Some Ideas

I have a few suggestions -

1) 404 error pages - if someone goes to my website but goes to a subpage that doesn't exist, an error page I've created should appear

2) The option to subscribe to blogs by emails - I haven't seen this option anywhere.

Thanks.

Hello John,

Thanks for the ideas.

We do have an error page (which you can see here: http://jeremytest.yolasite.com/1234.php)

We do not have an option to subscribe to blogs by email. Are you looking for somthing like Feedburner that you add your email and it subscribes you automatically?

At the moment if people would like to subscribe to your blog, they would use the RSS feed URL and add it to their RSS reader (like Google Reader, for example). You can find your RSS feed URL on your blog page, next to the icon that says "Subscribe to this blog".

If you would like to be able to send out emails to people to let them know that you have updated your blog, you would need to have some kind of subscription form on your site to gather their information. You can add a form by choosing one of the services and following the steps on this link: Forms.

I will put these suggestions to our product team and see if we can possibly include them in a future release.

Thanks for replying. What I would want with the 404 page is something that I would make myself. It would have the same layout as my website with all of the tabs and everything. It would just be like a new page I would create except it would apply to all 404 errors.

Hi John

I understand that you would like to have custom 404 pages for you site. This is not something that can be one on Yola right now.

Sorry that we do not have better news for you about this.

Is there any work being done to implement it. I paid for the domain and would like to have this option to customize it.

Hi John

We do not have any development plans to add custom 404 pages in the near future. However, it may be something that we implement down the line.

This certainly would be great! I've always wanted a custom 404 page. Hopefully it gets implemented someday. :)
