Is there a way to have "Blog" and "Site" in one?

That is I am planning a three-column web site and I want blog posts to appear in the middle column, while web site elements (e.g. text, pictures, etc) would appear in the left and right one.

Hello Uzzer,

There's a kind of a work around.

If you select one of the newer templates select "blog" as your index page, then change the style to three column you will have one column preloaded as a blog, which you can move into any of the three columns. The other two columns are accessible for adding standard web features.

Good luck.

I actually tried this but the standard web features just do not appear (on the left tool menu).

They are there Uzzer. If you look at the top of the sidebar you will see the Tab with back on it. I think its blue by default. Click this and the standard web features appear.

Looking at this thread: http://getsatisfaction.com/SynthaSite... - is there a way to pull the RSS feed from the blog and have it published in the middle column of the web site?

Yes to this one as well. You can embed a reader like Google reader or a read aggregator as I described in that article. into the middle column.

Hi Uzzer

Peter is correct. Any of the website widgets are available and can be added to a blog page. All you need to do is click the blue "back" button above the blog widgets and you will see all the other widgets in the Content sidebar.

Uzzer,

This is an image of the blog features then subsequently the web features. You will see the Back button I mentioned and then it has gone in the second image

Uzzer, thanks for your positive feedback! I hope you enjoy it here and stick around for a long time!

Peter: thanks for your help on this thread! It had run on for a bit by the time I saw it and I think Uzzer's initial request was misinterpreted. If you hadn't stepped in he might have gone away thinking that there was no way to achieve what he had in mind. We really appreciate the way you are helping us support SynthaSite members!

I think that tonight's group have really enjoyed the problem solving and camaraderie. I have. Plus I've solved three problems tonight which I was ignoring but prompted by enthusiasts I've distracted them from their own work but learned heaps.
I thank you for your comments Monique
