Spillover onto background when viewed on Internet Explorer

When I view my site on IE, Edition 16 ( go to Editions at the top, then click 16 ) spills over onto the background and I have had loads of complaints. When I view in Firefox it's fine. I use Firefox and a column divider to create my pages. How can I delete the dark background on IE if this isn't solvable? I want my site to be viewable in all browsers, so it's rather frustrating.

Hello BritSAL

Which version of Internet Explorer are you using? Please note that Yola only supports Internet Explorer 8 and 9.

If you're using one of those versions, can you please take a screenshot of what you see in Internet Explorer?

Well my version is 8...but I cant say which versions others who are trying to view my site are using. I usually use Firefox, and its fine on that.

As you can see, the yola music player, and writing bleeds over into the dark background on IE8.

BritSAL,
hi there - I visited your site and have same problem you do if I view via IE9. Also, I am having huge huge problem at present with my site and IE9. This never ever happened prior when I viewed with IE7,8.
I use FF to design in but always view via the Yola design phas in others just to make sure all ok. My site which is onine views fine in IE and wondered if this msut be something that has happened somewhere in Yola as has never happened over the previous years .

So am totally worried, now that I have seen your problem if this is now going to happen to me when I do a new 'upload'. It sounds like whatever is the problem may just happen to mine and will affect my whole site.

This has to be something between Yola and IE. I thought it was only in IE9 as never happened for IE7 and IE8 had no problems at all.

Can't think of any other reason other than something with Yola and IE ?.

I am glad you posted this and I took the time to go through and look at postings, otherwise I thought it was only me. It really is confusing as site uploaded is viewing correctly via any browser includ IE, but through the design area is not!
Await Yola's answer on this also.

PS. I realise we design in FF and use this browser, but

Thank you JC. I had been emailed by other readers at my site, but it's always nicer to know someone else has the same problem. I must admit I was on IE 8 when I viewed my site. Like I said, it's fine on all other browsers. I use Firefox always, and only viewed on IE as I had so many complaints. Otherwise I would not have known of this.I also have a tracker on my site, and it's worrying, as about 70% of those who view my site view it in IE. I hope Yola gets back to us soon. Thanks for posting!

Hi again. Yes - agree with the IE viewers, as a lot who view mine apparently also use IE. Just to let you know... by mistake Yola were helping me sort hiccups out and they tested a page by uploading and then deleting it, which meant of course the whole site went up online! which I was actually working on and changing it so wasn't ready to do so. Now working hard to fix everything to re upload. Bit of a job but in a way good, as now can see what the new pages look like online .... and, in fact, everything now looks fine in all browsers which of course is different than when viewed via Yola design view. I was worrying it would look like yours, but mine is fine.
So... this doesn't help you but I do wish you well with sorting your one out.

Hi, BritSal,

I took a look at your site. First, is the Internet Explorer you are using the AOL version? If so, Yola does not support this browser. We support the regular versions of IE 8 and 9. Second, can you please try renaming your file without the apostrophe, hyphen or spaces and see if that makes a difference? You can rename in the File Manager by right-clicking on the file and choose "rename". Also, please make sure you have the copyright or permission from the copyright holder before offering free downloads.

Please let me know how this goes for you.

Hi Diane.
To go through the number of files renaming for the site is'nt really a viable option for me...especially considering the bleedover only appears on Edition 16 and no others.I think I will have to post a notice on there that Yola doesnt support IE on AOL. Yes, I am on AOL, and probably so are many of my readers. I have deleted the music on the site to avoid copyright problems. Isn't it strange that my other sites with Yola don't have this problem when viewed through Internet Explorer on AOL? - it's just the one page, on the one site. Thank you for getting back to me, and for trying to help. Considering AOL is listed as 35 in the top 1,000 most visted sites on the inetrnet, I am surprised Yola doesn't support them.
