still having problems publishing ... spins loading

Do I have to repair permissions every time I use Yola? ... this take 10 minutes and did not fix the problem this time.

This has become the final deal breaker for me ... the only thing my MBP cannot do ... is stop that spinning, loading forever thing. For the record, I have not been able to edit my sites since the first day I bought this MBP over a month ago ... I have had to use another website builder that works just fine ... my issue is I have 12 websites with Yola ...

why has my good fortune with Yola now gone down the drain because I switched from a netbook to a MacBook?

Hello c2print

I am so sorry to hear that these problems are continuing. I am truly at a loss at knowing why this is happening.

All of our Yola staff are MBP users so this is why the problem you're experiencing is so baffling to us as we are not able to replicate these troubles.

Perhaps could you take your MBP to a technician to see if they can uncover these issues you're having with your computer?

Hi Sanja ... the only issue I have with this brand new MBP is the final publishing on Yola ... the sitebuilder lets me make changes ... just not publish.

I think the folks at the Apple Genius Bar might think I am weird when I tell them ... everything works great on the MBP except I cannot publish on Yola.

Even I think it is weird that ... a brand new MBP is the problem ... particularly weird when ... everything else on this MAC works ... even the other sitebuilder.

The other site builder is giving me Zero problems ... it is my 12 Yola websites that are now useless.

Are you folks seriously telling me to go to the Apple Genius Bar telling them the only thing wrong with the MBP is ... I cannot publish on Yola?

they will tell me to use the other sitebuilder.

well at least this has been acknowledged ... ?

It seems really silly to take a perfectly working 1 month old MBP in to be serviced ... because "Yola" will not publish. If I was not able to edit also with the Yola sitebuilder, then a slim maybe.
I almost wish there was an issue with this MacBook just to get to the bottom of this ... but sorry, it does everything perfect and fast, it has ZERO issues except for that little green publish button on Yola.

when another sitebuilder very similar to Yola is working perfectly with this MacBook .. my big issue ... like I said is my 12 dead Yolasites.

For the record ... I have not edited any of the sites since BEFORE that big Yola meltdown where everyones sites were down.

I guess I should realize this is not working for my websites and I am throwing productive time into a no win situation. I need to stop logging in, adding a period to one of my sites, watching the publishing, loading, spinning and get serious with this and start moving the sites to the other online sitebuilder. The upside is ... they will probably look better with complete redesigns.

call me www.AppleOC.com

but this Apple just will not work with that Yola green publish button.

I am not happy about being forced to abandon Yola ... mainly because moving 12 websites is so permanent.

We are never happy to see our users struggle and this case is certainly extreme. I know many different support representatives have been helping you on multiple platforms, so please excuse any redundancy in what I am about to ask you.

When we asked our engineers to take a closer look for you, they, like us, were unable to reproduce your problem, but they had a few more ideas and questions.

The one question I'm confident is new, is they asked if you would please create a new account and add a blank site to it then try publishing it? This will help us to determine if the problem is at the account level as it is clearly not at the site level if you are unable to publish any of your sites.

We also just want to confirm (this is where you can expect some redundancy, apologies in advance) that you have tried publishing from multiple browsers, and if so, can you please tell us which ones? Also, have you cleared your cache from within each of these browsers? Finally, have you had the opportunity to try publishing from a different network?

Thanks, we look forward to your reply so we can investigate further.

Hi Laura and Sanja ... do not fret at being redundant ... the bottom line here, there is an answer to this somewhere.

I opened an account called Apple OC ... same results, your site is super fast on this MBP ... until I try to publish.

so then I try Firefox ... it will not even load one of my yolasites even after reinstalling Firefox.

Like I said ... if this Mac did not work awesome on everything ... or if I had even the smallest reason to go see Apple other than telling them ... this one green button on Yola's website does not work.

Just like you are telling me that nobody can replicate my problem ... same here ... I cannot find even the smallest most minute problem with this MBP.

I cannot even find a website that does not work like it should ... including Yola, except ... sorry to mention the little green button again.

When it comes to browsers and Apple ... Safari is really the way to go. Trust me on this ... that is why Apple makes it the default browser on Macs. I think most people that go to Firefox on a Mac are former PC users that do not want to change from FF ... and a few Mac users that get bored and are looking for change. It is certainly not a case where Safari is not working or has become slow. Macs do not get slow with age ... they are workhorses.

I know people that leave their Macs on for months without having to reboot.

I have worked in the Printing Industry for 25 years ... Graphic Design and Printing are what have kept Apple at the very top of that industry since before Windows ever tried to compete with OSX. .... the company Mackintosh was kicking butt in the Printing Industry long before anyone ever heard of Apple iPods. ... and PCs were not even an option (PCs are basically good for Microsoft Word and Video Games)

I have never had an issue using the Internet with Safari on any Mac I have used ... and certainly not this brand new MBP. ... that is ... until now with that publish button.

Also for the record .... I think Yola is an Awesome company ... it is like Apple in the way that ... for the people that really know the truth about PC vs Apple.

those same people would see Yola as the Industry leader they are ... and know Yola will most likely always be one step ahead of the PCs of sitebuilers.

This is not easy for me to walk away ... the folks on this forum are treated like family ... it is the very appealing Yola way.

Hi there c2print.

We are still stumped when it comes to your problem but would you be willing to work with us?

There is a a screen-sharing program we could use to see your Mac's screen and see what exactly happens when you try to publish. Hopefully then we can solve your problem.

If you are keen to try this please email us at support@yola.com and mark it "attention: Jeremy" and I can set this up.

Again, many thanks for working with us on this.

Hey Jeremy .... I finally was able to publish

I ran repair permissions from the OSX install disk and tested Yola right away ... Wow I was able to publish, so I am not sure if it was the MBP or the sitebuilder blocking me from publishing ...

I am hoping this issue stays away ... and thanks again for your genuine concern ... and Monique's ... and Sanja's ... and Diane's ... and Laura's ... and Marije's ... and Emmy's ...

cheers to everyone

Hello Genevieve,

Mac Books do work with Yola but there are some issues with Safari browser specifically with the Online Store. It will work with FireFox or Chrome so suggest that you try either of these alternate browsers if you haven't already done so.

Please make sure to update your Flash and Java as these need to be periodically updated and there have been recent updates of both these.

hi there, thank you for the quick reply.

I had the feeling that safari was the issue so today I did download chrome ( which is what I used to use on my pc) and it worked this morning with everything after doing an update on my site and online store I closed it.. and about an hour after that I went back on to update some more.. it is still allowing me to edit my site but the online store, site traffic doesn't load :(

I did not make any changes with my setting etc during that time so I'm not sure what the problem is...

Thanks for the update.

Wondering now if this is some connectivity issue. Is this working again now or still held up?

One way to check the connectivity is trying through another ISP and if this is an issue switch to another computer. It's a process of elimination if this is still causing issues.

My connectivity is fine with my computer. In fact, my spouse has a Microsoft computer and all is fine on his pc on the Yola website.

I should also mention, i asked a family member who lives out of town to log into my Yola account and see if they are experiencing the same problem - as they have a mac book as well... they had the same issue of certain images not loading.

It almost seems as if Yola is not compatible with macs however that would not make sense as i am sure there are many mac users on Yola.

Yes there are and the Yola people themselves use Macs.

I think that your best bet is to address this specifically to Yola CS. You can either call them or send a message through the contact form listed as Contact CS at the bottom of this page. Looking forward to hearing how this resolves.

Gop.
