Stuck with sorting images into folders within file manager

Hi, I am about to start to tidy and sort all the bits and pieces in my file manager area. I have created the new folders I want and I currently have the tutorial open on how to move files from one to another folder.

I understand the first part and it's all good, I've copied then pasted into the relevant folder, however since some of the images i've moved are currently uploaded within my website and some are even my banners, I am having trouble finding the this next bit that is in the tutorial -

Please note: If you move your files from one folder to the next or basically change its location, and your file has already been added to a page on your site, you need to follow these steps:

Click on "Edit" on the top-left of the file.
Navigate to the file in your File Manager.
Click on "Select".
This will ensure that the correct path is being used for your file.

Where is EDIT ??? I don't see it :( Guess I'm either looking or am in the wrong area of my site. When i go to my file manager I can click on an image which highlights it but i have no option or cannot see "SELECT"

Thank you and I will try to make this the only question for today and go away and work quietly.

Hello Indi,
Because the location of the image has changed because of moving it to a new folder, you need to re-add the image to the page. Where the image was on the page will show an empty widget, so you can click on the little "Edit" icon on the widget to re-add the image. I am attaching a screen shot of this.

I hope this information is helpful!

Sorry it's not working :( Some days I just feel like throwing it all in....

I saw the "edit" with the pencil thing sorry but thought why do I want to go to the picnic area or whatever that place is.....i just started again with a test image, uploaded a brand new image to file manager, used picture widget and placed on a page, went back to file manager copy and pasted to a different folder then deleted the original. went back to my page and clicked on that edit button you have told me too, the picnic area starts to open up but i'm not sure why i'm going to this area ??? anyhow it didn't open, i got a message saying 'there was an error opening your image" :(

Hey Indi! Wow, I'm so sorry, I gave you the wrong instructions for what to click on! Please click on the little "Change" button and you will be able to change the image. Please let me know how this goes for you.

Sorry i clicked the star to say it answers the question....no no no sorry hit the wrong key :(

I didn't get an empty widget box, the pictures are still there but with the CHANGE > EDIT > PROPERTIES > OPTIMIZER above the image. I've just check again and done another test.....can't manage to get an empty widget box.

Ok, well that explains why i was confused going to Picnik....lol, the tutorial instructions are not very clear (maybe that is just me or are they out dated?).

I am still not getting what I think I am suppose to be getting, such as an 'empty widget box' !!!! I just started yet again with a brand new test image, uploaded to file manager, put picture widget on a page, back to file manager and copy/paste image to a different folder, go delete the original one, get the message saying "if you delete this image it will remove from all sources blah blah" hit yes I want to delete it, yep ok makes sense BUT i can go back to the page where I originally placed the picture widget and the image is STILL there, I thought it would be about here i'd get an empty widget box because when you do cick on CHANGE it takes you back to file manager obviously wanting you to click on the image in it's new location so why when I delete from file manager my image is still there on my webpage????

(This is the sort of time i'd get my friend to look at a preview just incase i'm seeing different ;-)

Bumping this cos it's still not sorted.

I have tried again and again and it's like when I copy/paste the image, in hindsight the 'link' should be broken and my image should go into cyberspace and disappear and I should be left with an empty widget box until I load the image back there from the NEW folder.....but alas, my old image remains, see, now I can't even break something....lmao....

Hi Indi,
I'm sorry this has been a frustrating problem. I think we need to take a closer look at this in your Sitebuilder and see if we can't get it worked out. Can you email us at support@yola.com and we can continue helping from there.
