That's probably part of the style, and it won't allow you to take it off. I would try a simpler template like cleanslate

Hello James,
Unfortunately this is part of the style and cannot be removed. I can see how this would be annoying as it does not allow you to customize the entire banner. I will log this for review to see if a change can be made. I would try Jame's idea of a simpler template, you might be able to make this work better for you.

Hi there,

Unfortunately I do not have the power to remove the flower from the template. I will definitely log something so this can be looked at by our Style team. I'm sorry for this inconvenience, I hope you will be able to find a style that works for you in the meantime.

Hi there, I am in the same boat as James. I don't particularly mind having the box with a bit of text but the flower is somewhat annoying as it doesn't relate to my site in any way.
Any help would be much appreciated!

Cheers!

Hi Kevin

Can you tell me which style template you are using? We offer a selection of styles that allow you to change the banner image, if you do not like the one that is associated with your website.

For more information on the attributes of the different styles, please see the Yola Style Guide. You can also view our tutorial on how to Personalize your Style.

I hope it helps. Please let us know if you need more assistance with it.

Thank you
Nazlie

Hi Nazile,
I have tried different styles but Flower Shop is by far the best (for me). The only thing that I do not like about it is the flower in the header bar, as it has no relevance to the site. I don't mind having the box there but without the flower or something less obvious would be heaps better for me.

Any help will be much appreciated. I understand that there are other styles that I can choose from, however having tried this style, I find it far superior!

Thanks!
Kevin.

Hello Kevin,

You are more then welcome to change the banner on your site, though, we are unable to take out one component the banner for you. If you are interested in keeping the template and loading your own banner, please follow these guidelines:

1. Click on the banner area. This will cause the dialog box to open up.
2. Click on "Change Banner Image".
3. Choose to upload an image from "Your Computer" or go to the "File Manager" if you have already uploaded an image.
4. Select the banner image and the Banner Editor will open where you can scale your image to fit into the banner area perfectly.
5. Make the changes and click on the "OK" button. The banner image will load onto the page in the site builder.

Apply to all pages:

Yola gives you the option to upload a different banner image on each page of your site, or apply the same banner image to all pages. To apply the banner image to all the pages on your site:

1. Click on the banner area.
2. A dialog box will open up. Select "Apply to All Pages".
3. Another dialog box will open asking you to confirm whether you would like to apply the change to all the pages on your site. Click on "Apply and Save" if you would like to go ahead.

Here is a link to more information on the attributes of the different styles: Yola Style Guide. You can also view our tutorial: Personalize your Style. For a step by step video on how to change you banner and background on Yola.tv, please see: Changing banner and background.

I hope you find these suggestions helpful!

Hello Kevin- All of the feedback does go to our engineers and Style Team. Unfortunately there has not been a workaround implemented for this style as of yet.
