can any one help out in explaining the whole sub domain thing.
on the silver package you can have up to 25 sites. if i have a sisiter site or business and i set the new site up as a subdomain.
will it get its own www.sistersite.com or co.uk title. or will it come up as www.sistersite.mydomain.co.uk, there seems to be a lot of info on setting up subdomains but not how they react with search engines or seo ranking etc.
so questions are:
does a sub domain get its own www.sitenanme.co.uk or com.
do you just make new site in yola dashboard/ domain and publish it to the main domain and yola works out the rest for you (dosent overwrite the main site on the domain).
when the site is published do i just market the www.subdomainname.com or uk etc or add the main domain name after it.
thx for any help in advance

hello Darren,

Yola sub-domains, Yola's free-sites, are identified and published as mysite.yolasite.com
It is a little uncertain as to the SEO power or lack of with such; yolasites but may very well be downgraded. There is certainly a legitimacy issue in some peoples minds and this could have a negative effect on SEO. There are also various watchdog sites that consider yolasites as untrustworthy but I do not know their influence in SEO ranking.

I don't think that many people would argue against a custom domain is better for SEO ranking than a subdomain.

A sub-domain is any site with the proper domain to the right of it. For example I could have as my domain "designexcellence.com". I could then create a sub-domain for this called "emeralds.designexcellence.com" which would be a sub-domain of the custom domain.

If you have a bought "mydomian.co.uk" then that is the domain. It is a fully fledged domain and not a sub-domain. It has all the advantages of a .com or .org etc.

i have the domain. i was just wondering if a site published on that domain as a sub. domain would end up with its own www.subdomain.co.uk or subdomain.mydomain.co.uk
to simplify it would the sub domain be reachable from. www.subdomainsite.co.uk,
sorry i do have a problem with beating around the bush.

You could only create the sub-domain www.fantasticplastics.fantasticmastic...

If you also had the second domain fantasticplastics.co.uk you could link to it but it most certainly isn't a sub-domain.

Hope this helps Darren.
