Subdomain mask help. Yola has been great but I am extremely frustrated

I had purchased my domain through Go Daddy and now have purchased Yola Silver because I like the Yola features and the time it has saved me. I have also created subdomains through Go Daddy. When someone clicks a tab on my link bar (for lack of better words) I want it to show a subdomain I made in Go Daddy not a yola sub domain. For example my domain is Bmorelax.net, when someone types that in I have masked it so that they do not see yola but rather Bmorelax.net. I created a subdomain summerlax.bmorelax.net. When someone clicks "summer lax" on my link bar I want it to show summerlax.bmorelax.net not lrsummerlax.yolasite.com/summerlax.php. Is there a way to accomplish this without having to transfer my domain to yola? This is extremely frustrating as I am trying to build a brand and having yola in the name completely defeats this purpose. Thanks in advance for all help!

Matthew you would need at least a hosting plan with Yola to do this and then you could possibly create the mask in your DNS manager. Without a hosting plan you don't have access to your DNS management.

It's not something anyone has done that I am aware of with a yolasite subdomain so it's new ground.

There was a recent thread(maybe 2 days ago) where 2 users reported that they had successfully created masks for a domain managed by Yola.

Hi Matthew,

If I'm understanding what you want correctly, this could only be accomplished by transferring your domain to Yola, however I am going to have our DNS team review your request to see if they are aware of a workaround that I am not familiar with.

Hi Matthew

If all you want to do is use your GoDaddy subdomains on your Yola sites, you would be able to do so by pointing these to Yola.

You would need to set up 2 A Records to point to Yola's IP address, 184.72.229.176. One A Record for WWW and another for blank or @. Once these are set up, you will be able to publish your yolasite.com sites using the pointed subdomains.

For full instructions on pointing a domain - or in your case, your subdomain - to Yola, please see this tutorial: Publish to a domain you already own.

Let us know if you need more help with this or if anything is unclear.

First, thank you both for replying, it means alot in terms of customer service! I am aware of how to point the domains and subdomains to Yola. My issue is that when someone clicks a tab on my link bar that has been created as a part of the Yola themed website, it automatically changes back to a yola subdomain, unless I mask the whole website. For example, if I have a page lets say "registration". In the link bar it shows up "registration". The Yola subdomain is lrsummerlax.yolasite.com/registration.php, my subdomain is registration.bmorelax.net. I want it to come up in the address bar as registration.bmorelax.net, not the yola one. Do you understand what I mean by link bar? It is the bar which holds all the links to my pages within Yola. I am sure there is CSS code around this I am just not that familiar yet and am still learning.

I guess I just want to change where the links in my link bar are going. I don't see why I would need to go through hosting changes or anything. The links in my link bar should be able to be customized. What if I wanted to put a link to an outside site on my link bar, how would this be accomplished?

Thanks for your replies by the way I thought I had posted another part which didn't go through. Do you understand what I mean by link bar? It is the pre-made bar within the theme I have chosen where yola has put all of my links to all of my pages within the site. I can't imagine no one has wanted to do this so far. I fully understand how to mask a sub domain, this is not my issue. If I make a sub domain how can I have my link bar point to this sub domain, rather than showing lrsummerlax.yolasite.com/registration.php in the address bar. I just want the page within the link bar to point somewhere else other than on my site.

Hello Matthew

If I got you right, you have a Yola website which is available at bmorelax.net, and one link of your navigation menu is "registration". When someone clicks on this "registration" tab, you still want to open a page within your Yola website, but the URL of this page should be "registration.bmorelax.net", is that right?

If that is what you you want to achieve, I will need to ask one of our specialists if this can be done.
