Subdomains with godaddy

Does godaddy offer subdomains as part of your purchased domain? or can you create subdomains through yola with a domain purchased outside of yola?

I'm thinking about changing my site up, but without spending a fortune. I think I want each main Gateway to have it's own subdomain... this way... I can create an entirely different site based on that Topic. I got the idea while doing my astronomy section... and I'm thinking it would be cool to have the background like a constellation for example... without having to do each page individually... having a different menu to suit for these topics, etc... etc...

yea, thanks kershnee.. I just came across that topic minutes ago...

but... I'm confused... lol, not with creating subdomains... but how to put them to good use. I need an expert! LOL.

I would need a different site (with yola) for each subdomain right? Which would mean I'm limited to 5 with basic and 25 with pro... but besides that... I'm still confused of how I can implement them to work together... as professional sites such as yahoo does. music.yahoo.com is a complete different site than mail.yahoo.com... but they blend in very nicely, you can go to one subdomain, and although different looks and menus exist, you can still make your way through pretty much all of yahoo from any one subdomain... What I'm trying to do, would you think might be too much work? Will it be worth it?

Hey Donald,
I kinda see what your are trying to do. Although it might be pretty hard to do and to update if something changes. Say your main website (youcanneverbetoosmart.com) and then you have dictionary.youcanneverbetoosmart.com. Do you want to have links that go back and forth between the two sites?

Not exactly... say for example my "gateways" page....

http://sitebuilder.yola.com/sites/D7d...

has topics... Health and Fitness, Geography, Culture, etc...

my subdomains would be... health_and_fitness.youcanneverbetoosmart.com
geography.youcanneverbetoosmart.com
culture.youcanneverbetoosmart.com
etc.

the Health and Fitness subdomain would be a different site in itself... maybe with a white background and health symbolys on the background and the menu wouldn't be the same as my main site, it would be related to the health and fitness. Clicking on home will take you to the homepage of health and fitness not you can never be too smart... however, I would have somewhere on every page to return to the main site maybe either in a bottom menu or the main menu. This is an example of one of the many possibilities which would separate my site from the rest and make it better.

If I could figure a way of doing this... my site would then be awesome.
