Hello, Yola and everyone else. I was wondering how you can put a subsribe button (that will really work, of course.) on a Free Yola website? Say you have like a blog and everytime you update something (change something on the website) it will send everyone who has suscribed to it an email to their email address.

Is this possible? It would be soooo awesome if is!

PS - obviously, the suscribe button has to turn into an unsuscribe button after the click it so they can unsuscribe themselves if they don't want to ge emails anymore
.
Thank you, Yola, I'm REALLY REALLY hoping that this is possible.

Hello Kokuro,

If people would like to subscribe to your blog, they would use the RSS feed URL and add it to their RSS reader (like Google Reader, for example). You can find your RSS feed URL on your blog page, next to the icon that says "Subscribe to this blog".

If you would like to be able to send out emails to people to let them know that you have updated your blog, you would need to have some kind of subscription form on your site to gather their information. You can add a form by choosing one of the services and following the steps on this link: Forms.

There is no icon that say "Subscribe to this blog". Can you add one with one of those Widget Galleries?

I could just do it manually depending on how many people actually subscribe.

I could just put a Form on the page and in a text block I could just put something like "Subscribe" and then the form will be forwarded to my email address and when I write a new blog I will send them an email saying so

?

It would be easier, I assume.

Then if they wanted to unsubscribe they could reply unsubscribe to me and I would erase them of the list of emails and wouldn't send them emails anymore.

Hello Kokuro,

I'm wondering if you are using our blog page template? If so, you should see the option to add a subscribe button under the Blog Widgets. I've attached a screenshot of where you can find this.

Alternatively, your idea also works just as well! I think it just a matter of preference ;)

If it could work and do it automatically and easily unsubscribe I would love for it to do it automatically, but what do you mean "our blog page template"? I don't know what that is, I've never heard of it. :O

Hi Kokuro,
You will only see the Blog widgets if you have a blog page opened in the sitebuilder. Please open a blog page and give it a try!
