Iadded a file to my site about two months ago when it was synthasite.. It was 35MB for six pages. Today I added two more files. One that is 11 pages is 1600 MB, and the other is 22 pages and came out 3500 MB. This is way too many MB's for the amount of pages. And these new files take 5 to 10 minutes to bring up, where the first one comes up instantly. Please help me find out what's wrong, Yola. I need the files for court. thank you.

Hello Daniel,
Can you give us a link to your site so we can take a look. How did you upload these? Are you linking to them as a pdf or word doc?

I uploaded them with PDF . A person at the library helped me put the first file onto my site. Today he transferred the other two files from his thumb drive at another city building to the library computer , so I don't know if that could have been something else like Word or not. My site is danielrunge.synthasite.com thank you

theres a big difference between 35mb and 3.5 gig - this is a huge file.

You have 2 options: break it down into smaller files (or maybe remove video or whatever is making the file so big)
or you could use a company who deal in sending large files
this is an example there may be a better 1 for you http://www.gigasize.com/index.php

hope this helps. Lee.

the first file is 35Kb - this will load in seconds - the second is almost 2MB and the third is 11Mb.

The bigger a file the longer it will take to load.

To check the original size of the file right click it and go to properties -

What exactly is the problem because the files load at a normal speed for me?

You could try to re scan the pages, they are the size of 4 large photos not the size of 4 pages of text. If your scanner allows try to scan to text instaed of to image

Hi Daniel - i have re looked over your problem - the first document you added is actually text i.e. it takes up no file space -- the second 2 files are scans of documents, probably they have been scanned as images - to lower the file size you will need to rescan them with file size in mind (this can be achieved in different ways with differnet scanners)

Let me know if this works out for you. Lee.
