Hello stormydaycrafts,

Your site looks great, it is very organized and easy to navigate! One suggestion I have would be to add an About Me page, sometimes viewers really like to read a bit about the owner of a site. Great work!

Hi stormydaycrafts!

As Emmy said, your site looks great and I too find it easy to navigate. I'm just going to concentrate right now on your homepage as this is the page that will make it's immediate impact on your user.

I love the dog photo and sample you have. This should be relegated to the top of your page. Show off your talent and immediately spark people's interest.

You have a lot of information on your page. I would encourage you to perhaps find a way to "separate" your information from each other. You appear to have 3 main "categories" on your page. The 1st one relates to payment information, 2nd one relates to the actual cross-stitch and 3rd one relates to your form and contact info.

You can create a separation by a few ways:

1. Simply put more space between each section. I would encourage you to give each section a title.

2. You could put each section into a box with a border around it

3. You could put in a "line divider"

If you are interested in pursuing any of the above suggestion and need further clarification or help going about doing it, please do ask!

thank you! i was thinking of putting the payment and prices on a completely different page and moving the dog picture to a custom banner template (tastelessly). but the pic as the banner im not to sure of yet. what do you think?

I think that's a great idea to have your payment and prices on a different page. However, I would advise that you place this link high up on your menu as you have quite the lengthy menu. You don't want people to be searching all over to find this information. It should be easily accessible.

I think creating a custom banner is a wonderful idea as this would really showcase your site and really make it personal. As for what picture to use.. well.. that is entirely up to you! Maybe you could pick 3 or 4 different samples that you could incorporate into your site to reflect the diversity of your talent?

Here's another kind of novel idea!

You could create a most popular pattern slideshow and each photo could link to the site where the pattern is found. Here's an excellent example - http://helderberg.cc/ The photos will all need to be the same size.

I have a different slideshow on my site but mine allow for different sizes: http://dejavuapparel.yolasite.com

Hi Stormy

Which slideshow would you like? The one on helderberg.cc or the one on dejavuapparel?

Sure, no problem stormy. Just a coupla questions. Did you want the photos to link to a page? Do you want the text wrapping around the photo or do you prefer to have the text below the photo?

Hi Stormy

Okay, I'm gonna work on your slideshow over the course of the day. Yola has created a "test site" for people to get their codes. I would like you to go there as well to get your code once it's done. Are you comfortable with uploading your own photos or would you like me to include your photos in the code?

I still have to add it to the test site. I'll try to get it done as quickly as possible. You'll need the login information and password to grab the code from the testsite. Here's the thread regarding the test site: http://getsatisfaction.com/yola/topic... I hope you don't mind waiting for a bit. It may not get done until this evening.

Hi Stormy

I've done your slideshow. You can find this on the Yola test site. Please use the login and password. You'll see a site with your name "Stormy" on it. That's where you'll go to get your slideshow. If any problems, let me know!

I'm a little confused... are you talking about my horizontal scrolling images just under my banner on my site? Is that the one you wanted?? Sorry, I thought you wanted the other slideshow under "what's new!" where there's text with the images. I can do the horizontal one for you if you wish. I was planning on adding it to the Yola test site library of stuff.

Hi Stormy.. the horizontal scroller is now up! Like before, go to the Yola test site and enter the login and password. Then, find your site with your name "Stormy" on it. Then, you should see a page for "horizontal scroller". Give me a shout if you need help on the comment board on the Yola test site.

Hay stormydaycrafts.com I love how basic your site is it makes it very easy to use and I am sure lots of people will like that and buy your patterns.
However On your homepage I see you have to widgets to see how many people have visited our site, they both say different readings I would get rid of the grader as the other widget gives more info and the grader says "Get your own WebGrader" or something. Yes there is not much I can say that is bad actually the whole thing is very nice.
I would buy from this site!
Well done and good luck! :)

Your site is looking great. I love the picture of your dog and the pattern you made from him. A great addition to your homepage that will get people thinking about your product and interested in buying it.

The site looks great, but I think the menu bar is too long. I would make some sub-pages. You could have a fairies page and then link to fairies 1, 2, 3 etc. I have tried to keep my menu bar as short as possible.

I would also move your Google search bar to the bottom of the page. I know you want to make some money from it, but you don't want to lose potential customers as soon as they click on your site. Having the search bar at the top gives them a quick option to move on somewhere else. By having it at the bottom of the page, potential customers will have had to scroll through your information first.

Just my two pennies worth.

this is my first site and it is one big project. i dont know how to make sub menus but i will look into that today thanks for that tip

as for the search it only does my site and i dont make money off it at all. i dont want ads on my site. i have it there so they can find what kind of pattern they want without having to search the entire site soon there will be over 1000 patterns. i will see if i like it at the bottom it might be perfect down there1
