Our business has been successful for the 3 years that we have been opened. I do hesitate when it comes to adding new ideas etc. I know my gallery's are a bit of a humdinger and trying to get everything in the thumbnail gallery has been hard for me to do. We would like to be able to connect to a wider market area but not quite sure what we should do. Some of the widgets etc we arent quite sure which is right for us to show our work off.
In our late 40's any help, input and suggestins would be greatly appreciated. We would like to see our business grow even more especially since we are still a very new business.
Thank you for reading this and good luck to all who have submitted.

Hi Yola

My website is www.worldwar1postcards.com

I have had the site for one year and would love to have it reviewed by Yola.

Any suggestions for improvement would be gratefully accepted. For instance, I feel there is much room for improvement on the Home page and wondered if all the links to other pages should appear on the Home page.(At present some links to other pages are on the top navigation bar. I want the navigation of the site to be as easy as possible for visitors. I know there is much to improve, I just need the 'know-how'.

This is a World War 1 (1914-1918) information site with original content and images. There are also a number of eBooks for download - some for just pennies. It would be great to sell more of them.

I feel the site is not getting the 'hits' it should (average 20 a day) even though it is listed on the first page of Google for 'WW1 postcards'.

The subject of WW1 is already popular and I feel it will be more so next year - the 100th anniversary of the start of the conflict.

It would be fantastic to have a professional websitebuilder look at the site with fresh-eyes and review it.

With best wishes, Tony

Hello Laura,

Thank you for allowing me to submit my request for a website make over. The potential of being one out of hundreds to have my website made over is very exciting. This is very kind of you!

I am a producer of fresh live feeder insects for exotic pets who, just like many other pet owners, was tired of getting poor quality feeders for our exotic pets from the local pet store, at exorbitant prices too!

So early in 2013 I began to raise and breed some of my own feeder insects. I then began to also supply some of my higher quality live feeders to exotic pet owners in our neighborhood. The word spread quickly as they immediately saw health improvements in their exotic pets. So more people said to me "You need to get a website Annie." Some of my customers even left testimonials on exotic pet blogs.

So my husband Peter got to work, just this April, and created my website: www.theWormLady,ca
I think he did a good job of it!!!
Request are finally starting to come in from all over Canada.

But who would believe that I'm worth their time and money if my website doesn't present itself as so?

I hope you would select my website for the next makeover so that exotic pet owners across Canada would trust me as their number one supplier of the healthiest live feeder insects they can get.

Even if not selected, I still want to thank you for your kind offer and consideration.

As well, if at all possible, I would love it if you could view my website and give me some valued feedback on how to make it better? I want my website to be the best, not just better, for my marketed audience. So if you could give me some advice on how to do that it would be greatly appreciated. This will be the valuable tool which I can utilize to achieve a real surge in my retail sales.

My website address is www.theWormLady.ca

Thank you in advance,

I just wanted to follow up here and let you all know that we are still logging each of your website review requests. We are still working our way through your submissions and working with as many of you as we can. If your website is selected for a review, our design team conducts a group review. Once the review is concluded we vote on if a design report with our suggestions is to be offered or whether the site qualifies for a makeover. If we vote on a makeover, we will reach out to you direct and begin the design process. We've been so delighted by the results of the Website Makeovers and we appreciate your patience and participation!

Thanks Yola for the opportunity.

Our website is capitalcityplumbinganddrain.com, we are approaching our one year anniversary in business and I would like to have a strong branding that people recognize. Right now I feel like our website has too much text and not enough to draw visitors attention. I could really use the help on how to develop a plumbing company's website and make it eye catching and be able to represent the quality of work we do.

I have built a website to share details about an annual social day for a lot of elderly and retired officers from my office. This has included adding photos of each years golf day activities and contact details for other social occasions. This site provides a contact point for a lot of people from around the country to keep in touch. With the help of yola staff I am self taught in website design and any professional thoughts or help would be appreciated www.springwoodcup.com

I want to set up an interactive site www.kentonpress.com people will visit regularly as the product(s) is a board game and needs to to exude fun. Its actually a drinking game which I want people to surmise, rather than push as non drinkers and students could play it too.

Although I am not computer competent, I have been able to rely on the support of the Yola staff which has been readily available, and shows one of your core strengths.

I have dual languages, numerous internal and external links, a blog (with comments and security) and a photo gallery all thanks to their help.

Unfortunately I don't quite catch how to drive customers, and my artistic and marketing skills stink. My sites strength, being a project manager, is my tenacity to make it work and possibly the use I have made of my game designers ideas.

But its built by an engineer and doesn't purr!

I am so frustrated because as easy as yola is, I just can't do it! I feel like I have enough content on my yola site already, but I just can't seem to pull it together. My nephew keeps telling me that yola is "too constrictive" but I think it's just me. I am an accountant so I know I'm intelligent enough :-). Maybe Yola is not the right application for my site? I think it should be fine. If it isn't then I need someone who knows about Yola to tell me my nephew is right.

I think the issue is that I do not have any talent when it comes to designing pages, creating images and knowing where to put content, how to do the navigation, etc. I can't seem to tie it together. It needs tweaking and I know nothing about css and html. The content is there but the site doesn't flow and isn't right. I just need someone patient who can clean it up and make it shine. I guess I'm just tired of looking at it, and it's not going anywhere.

As a separate issue, I also need to set up a facebook page, twitter, and blog, and will need help with marketing and maybe some logo design.

I'm lost and feel hopeless!

Hi Rivkah,

Please share your website address if you'd like our team to review it. I'm sorry to hear you are so frustrated. It sounds like Yola should be able to meet your needs without a problem. It hasn't been featured on our blog yet, but we did do a makeover for another accountant who shared his site on this thread.

That said, if you need help with a logo design and all of your social media and marketing, it might not be a bad idea to get some help, possibly from a freelance designer or social media marketer.

Hello Laura,

I build our website a few years ago and it is in dire need of an update. We recently were forced out of our store, after doing business for 10 years, by the expiration of our lease and a 45% rent increase which we could not afford. We are happy that we found a new location but are finding our old customers are not readily finding us.
We are now at a cross roads and are debating whether it would help us grow our business if we added an online store. However we are at a total loss on how to do this and could use your expertise help. Also, we have been told over the years that our SEO is below par and we have no idea how to make this better. We have a beautiful store and need a website to match it. www.finnboutiquesf.com
If would be so wonderful if we could be considered for a free website makeover.
Any suggestions are most welcome, thank you for your consideration.

Hello Laura,

My website, www.littlesticks.co.nz , is in desperate need of Yola's help. I have had a successful online business through my Yola website over the past three years, but last year switched my cart to the Yola cart and now I'm struggling. The cart makes my life so much easier, but I'm no longer getting any traffic to my site. I'm hoping you can help me in making my index page more visually effective, and get me my customers back. I love using Yola, and the new cart makes my life so easy, but I need to sell more :)

Regards,
Libby

Hello,
I built my website buffaloniagarababyrental.com through Yola about a year ago. The majority of my customers locate me through the web and the website is where they will get there first impression of my company. This is my first website and to be honest I have no idea what customers think when they go on my site. As in does it look professional? Do I have too much text or pictures? is it organized or does it look all cluttered? I'm not very computer savvy and often wonder what customers think when they view my site. Any feedback from a professional would be appreciated and give me the criticism customers will most likely never tell me but will defiantly notice

Thank you
Eileen

Hi, I have enjoyed your blog series on professional makeovers and am submitting my website www.farragio.com for a professional makeover. I am pleased with how my site has evolved using the tools that Yola provides but I'm sure there are probably things that I am missing, and it would be great if a professional could take a look and help me make the most of my space. I have been in business for three years and am always interested in making improvements.

Hello!

After leaving my position in corporate banking, I volunteered in Latin America for a year. While I was there I was awed by the wonderful handmade products that were being made and at the same time saddened by the living conditions that the underprivileged had to deal with.

I decided to open sharedtreasuresboutique.com for two reasons: 1) I needed a job and 2) to try to raise money for missions/organizations in Latin America.

My site only sells items made in Latin America and I have purchased as much of my products from the communities that need the most assistance. I also donate 10% of my gross sales to missions/organizations in Latin America.

Without having any experience in website building, I signed up for Yola Silver and built my own. It has taken me hours and hours and hours of scouring the internet - learning about different aspects of web design, but some of it seems overwhelming at times. I got excited when I figured out how to drop and drag widgets into my page and since then I have been constantly updating and learning.

My sight really needs a professional touch and also needs to be done properly for SEO optimization. I have read a lot about this...but it just seems to be something I can't quite grasp.

I have a lot of little (and not so little) flukes on my site. I write to Yola and they tell me how to fix it......but sometimes I just don't understand or it does not work out as I am still doing something incorrectly.

I have some fantastic handcrafted items, but my sight does not look professional and is not featuring my company in the light I wish it too.

Please consider my site for a makeover.

Sincerely,

Laura Livingstone

Thank you for taking the time to work with Yola customer's on reviewing and improving so we can shine! My website is www.mydirectvirtual.com. I haven't promoted as I am in the beginning stages of forming a virtual assistant company. Some friends and family have looked at my website and said "it's nice" or "it doesn't have enough pazzazz". I thought I had created a simple and professional website, but now I'm totally lost. I do not want prospective customers to look at it in one second, and then click the "X" button and move on to another site. I need an effective website, one that is easy to interpret, and grasp attention. Can you please help me with this? I am so appreciative of any help!! Thanks!! Leanne
