Hi Morgan,

You can click in the text box and then click on the HTML button on the text toolbar. You'll see something like color: rgb(0, 0, 255) next to the links that you have already changed the colour of - change these numbers to the colour that you would like to see and they should display on your previewed/published page in that colour.

I hope that helps.

Hello,not sure I understand that?
I have just highlighted some "normal" text on one of my pages to change its colour just to see if it is only the links to other pages I cannot do and when I highlighted it and then clicked on a colour in the font colour chart I got a warning box come saying;

Are you sure you want to navigate away from this page?
WARNING this will refresh the entire application and all data will be lost!
press OK to continue or cancel to stay on the current page.

Surely this isn't right?
When I first designed the page I could change whatever text colour I wanted?
Help!

That definitely doesn't sound right! Are you clicking on the font colour options on the text toolbar? See pic (I've highlighted the colour and HTML buttons):

If you are doing that, could you let me know which browser and operating system you're using so that I can try and replicate the problem on my side.

You can stop the HTML from being interpreted by putting <!-- at the beginning and --> at the end of the code.

Hi morgan

Try having one text box per link. I have played around for the hour and for some reason it revolved around all the links together in one box. Ordinarily it doesn't do that but in this case it seems to be the cause...

P.S. your second link goes nowhere...

I am 90% sure that that will get you fixed up ;)

Happy site building

Hi Ed,Thanks for the tip off of second link, sorted that one out.Not sure I understand what you mean by one text box per link?
The earlier problem of the warning box has gone away but I still can't change the colour on my links at the bottom of my home page.

Thanks

To make all of the links turn the color you like you should use one text widget per link.

One text widget for "what we do"
One text widget for "what you have to do"
One text widget for "fill out the form"
One text widget for "special offers"
One text widget for "payment details"
One text widget for "contact us"

In a perfect world you could have all of them in one.

I bet it solves your problem because it did when I was testing it... Try it and then get back to me...

Hello Ed and anyone else who can help. Ed,I tried adding a text box then putting in the title of the first link, changed it to the required colour, all fine.As soon as I link it to a page it turns black and will not have any of it thereafter?
Cheers

Morgan I am sorry I didn't make that clearer... You should create new text widgets and type in them and not cut and paste from one to another.

One text widget for "what we do"
One text widget for "what you have to do"
One text widget for "fill out the form"
One text widget for "special offers"
One text widget for "payment details"
One text widget for "contact us"

I tried that and it stopped the color change upon linking...

It may have something to do with your text code. I wonder if you by chance typed your pages in Microsoft Word and then copied and pasted into your text widget???

Just a thought.

Ed

Oh by the way... after you link your text you can highlight your text and change the color ;)

Hello Ed,
I did create a new text widget and I didn't cut and paste. I didn't use word or anything else either, I have just typed directly onto synthasite.
I have tried changing the colour of the links before and after actually linking them too,to no avail.
Thanks for your help

Okay chief that has to be a bug because I have tried it a dozen different things and the text changes when I reach the second and sometimes third linking. I was able to create a new text widget for each one and the color always stayed dark green so I don't know what might be wrong on your end (I wonder what browser you are using???) I have spent hours on this and haven't got any more time to invest in this as it appears to be a bug issue with the HTML and all the links in one text widget so follow these steps and you should be ok...

1) Open a NEW text widget
2) Click on the text box to remove the "click here to start typing your text" text
3) Click on the HTML tab in the toolbar while the text widget bar is dark green
4) Delete the ( ) contained in the text space in the HTML popup box
5) Highlight and copy each code below and paste it into a blank text widget HTML editor then click "OK"

Do this for each set of code below... Make sure that for each set of code you use a new freshly dragged text widget. If you shortcut and put the code in a HTML widget the mouse over line will not work.

Hi Morgan

I am glad that you have gotten your site looking the way you want with the dark green font. It was an interesting work around but offers the same effect as well as protects the links from changing and interfering with one another.

Good job and happy site building
