Hi there,.

I think Yola is awesome!!! sooo cool. BUT.... I have a problem when it comes to the TEXT widget... I add one.. write my text.. then FIGHT with it, to finally aligne.. then check on a different web-browser and it looks the way it does before the FIGHT... i.e. it does not align and ends at really random points... NOT THE WAY I want it to be... is there any tips you can give me...? I have almost been pushed to uploading IMAGES containing my text... but that is not cool, as then the 'crawlers' won't pick up on my content etc. this is driving me nuts... as I'm constantly changing my text etc. and it's like the most simple thing to alter..(meant to be) I've had way more fun fighting and succeeding with CSS over-rides and HTML inputting.

please help me... so confused... I don't really understand the Heading 1 - 6 either... not the paragraph setting etc. it's really lame! or I'm just being really stupid.

Thank.

MIK

ps. I am a silver account holder, but opting to use another email add/account due to not wanting the crawlers leading my query back to my website. (no offence)

What alignment are you working towards? (Left, Centre, Justified or Right).

Many have had to struggle with this in their earlier starts with Yola so it's not a hopeless situation. Different browsers will align text differently and is due to a host of reasons including the specific rendering of the font itself and then the rules used by each browser for spacing, kerning and whatever attributes the creators worked into the browser logic.

The headings are the priorities wrt to SEO Heading 1 is the most noticeable or has the most weight working downwards. Logically then you would put your group heading as an h1 style working down to h6 if you had that many layers of headings.

Headings are still deemed to be important and should be inclusive of the general text covered by the heading. Then the content is re-inforced and seen as reliably on topic. The algorithms of the search engines will use the hx's with the meta words or description to do their summary in preference to the collection of key words input by the author.

PS: I wouldn't worry too much about bots skimming email addresses from this kind of post.

You're not using the latest Firefox 8 browser by any chance? I've been having text alignment problems and now have to use Google Chrome to edit my text.

Mark - no, I use CHROME... ???

Gop - thanks for your response...

I will continue to write my response, in the way that
my text will be views in some browsers. It just all seems a bit too
random for me.
I'm really confused as to why I'm not able to out a space where I want a space or a new space in between my lines. etc. Here for example I would have started writing on the next line, but it would add it to the line above after publishing my website. this really makes little sense to me... especially, when it is happening so flippin random...

any feedback welcome.

Thanks guys...

omg... ignore the above... for some reason it took all of my spaces away and aligned the text in my response to the way it should read normally... tu che... please see the print screens below.

It just can't be, that there is so much fussing around with the text, when all major things seem so easy.. I'm sure there has to be some way around this,..

A CR is the most reliable way of starting or continuing text on the following line. Spaces will be checked against the internal logic of the text browser editing optimising and this can be different from time to time and it is to do with the space between characters as this can vary in character combinations plus filling the line optimally for reading. Tabs are a god way of adding a definite space size but I've never looked at adjusting the Space size with HTML. It's always a lucky dip when you use spaces to add space between words. Justified text in word processors overcame this issue but this is so variable in web-sites it almost becomes unuseable and unpredictable. You can bring some of the inter browser variability down by using em and percentage as the settings of font size. This tends to show similarly in most browsers. Have a look at http://www.w3schools.com/css/css_font... and the specific info is within the last two boxes.

If you are finding additional line space between lines after a CR then by holding SHIFT down and ENTER the line space will be halved, it's a handy trick if you are unaware of it.

hey, a quick update - not had time to try it up until now.

I have changed the text in order of heading1, heading2, paragraph etc.
when trying to alter the paragraph section of my text it will do the following:

When writing a sentence and wanting to finish it with a full stop and the a new line.

This happens after pressing enter. - it will double space, instead of doing what the next sentence will do, start on the line straight below this text.
So I hope this makes sense to you guys, because to me it really doesn't.

Thanks for you feedback.,
