Text problems

I want to add lots of text to my site, but the text widget is not as intuitive as you'd expect.
Every time I want to begin a new paragraph it automatically leaves a space between the first paragraph and the new one.

Like this:

-Hello

-Hi

Instead of:

-Hello
-Hi

What can I do?

This can be fix using these steps
1. Login to your account.
2. Select your site
3. Find the page you wish to add a text component
4. click the textbox
5. click this image and than click paragraph

That should do it let us know if it doesn't

i also have this problem, its only in some styles, i use 'cleanslate' and the same thing happens to me - its like the line spacing is way to big.
THE PARAGRAPH OPTION WONT WORK- How i work around it is use my notepad (built into all windows operating systems) i write the content in that then copy it into the site editor and the add font styles etc.

Another option would be to change styles.

PS do not use word or similar, this adds code, use notepad or similar basic text editor.

This should be reported as a problem to synthasite.

Hi Tiago,

Adding to Shaqs comments it's quite important not to use a word processor for copying text into a Synthasite page. If you wish to copy and paste text then it is safe to use a text editor such as Notepad to do this. This is because word-processors can carry hidden codes onto your page and often give problems such as line spacing, font size etc.

It also depends on what browser you are using. The browser controls the way text editing works in this case. If you are getting an extra line, try holding down the "shift" key when you press enter. (shift+enter)

Lee: I tested this on CleanSlate in Firefox and it works to get rid of the extra space.

good to know thanks Monique, youve saved me some time, but why does it only do it in certain styles?

I guess that is related to the CSS of the style. IE seems to insert space no matter which style you use (inserts a p tag instead of a br tag). Firefox only seems to have the problem on certain styles. Either way, I hope the workaround helps.

I always use Notepad for writing texts to post on the Internet. :)

In Cleanslate, the space between the lines is smaller, but it's still there.

I tried now copying the text from a Notepad, and it works. Thanks.
