I have been working on a few contact forms lately using JotForm, and needed to do a bit of work on a "Thank you" page.
JotForm allows you to link to your own URL once the form has been submitted. At first I was thinking of creating a thank you page with a 5 second redirect back to the form page they
had just left.
I did a bit of Googling to get some ideas on "thank you" pages and opened up a whole new can of worms which has got me off on a whole new tangent and a couple more days of work of course.
What I found, was that people were saying that the "thank you" page is the most underutilized page on your website.
If someone gave you their email address, name, phone number, etc through a contact form, they trust you and wish to hear from you. Don’t just serve them a standard "Thank you" page.
Use this valuable real estate to extend your relationship and engage them with other conversion possibilities like a newsletter signup, an RSS feed, other specials, etc.

Besides allowing you to link to your own custom "thank you" page, JotForm also allows you to send a confirmation email to your client. You can make it more personal by including their name and some of the details that they just filled in on your form.
Here's an example of the confirmation email that I am currently working on.
