Hi Donald,

In what way is Google Analytics inaccurate compared to GetClicky?

Hi Connor, I mean no disrespect but myself (I think william too) and others I know use google analytics (friends of mine) who use a wide range of different sitebuilders all thought they were getting a lot of traffic until they tried get clicky. Google analytics kept telling me I was getting 100 to 400 visitors per day. When I switched to getclicky, I discovered I was getting 5 to 30 sometimes as much as 50 and once in the entire seven months my website's been open I had 80. Most of my visitors come from getsatisfaction and a very few from search engines. I am able to verify where my visitors came from and know that the 5 to 30 visitors is accurate versus the 100 to 400 visitors. I know I'm not getting that many visitors. And like William says above - "I thought I was getting a lot of visitors a day when in REALITY lol im not"

Connor, if you don't currently use getclicky, put getclicky on your most trafficked page for one day and compare the differences. Even if they aren't a big difference for you (5 - 30 to 100 - 400) like mine was, I guarantee they will be different unless google fixed this. And if in deed getclicky shows less visitors than google, sorry to disappoint you, but I would believe getclicky. The reason is. I don't have any paid advertising. Therefore, I know just about everywhere my visitors come from. I can look at getclick and determine where my visitors came from and know it's accurate. Also, it's real time, with google you have to wait a day for results. I know the exact moment someone's on my site. It's marked with (1 online now) or (3 online now).

I would still stick with Analytics.

One good reason why you may be seeing these changes is that most of that extra visits (100-400 or whatever) are your own visits. More than likely GetClicky does this automatically for your or you just tick a box, and GA dosen't. You just need to add a custom filter in order to do this in GA.

The reason GA isn't realtime is because this way it can provide more accurate analytics.

If you take the time to experiment with GA you can do some really amazing stuff and it is highly customizable. For example, if you have a online store you can track everything possible about your buyers such as where they came from, what they bought, how much, best selling items and totals.

Yea, but like I said before, I know pretty much everyone that visits my site and just about all the actions they do. I can SEE with getclicky that they are accurate. With EVERY visitor, EVERY action, including my own actions, I don't get 100 visits even among EVERY page. I bet if you tried getclicky.you would notice you don't get as many visitors as you thought. I know that everyone that uses both google and getclicky realizes that they are off big time. Google is inaccurate. Like I said, I KNOW FOR A FACT getclicky is accurate which makes me think google analytics is not.

lol, sorry it took a while to reply... I was out trick or treating with my children... I also took them to a church event at a park with lots of good Christian music and where I know everyone on a personal level (went camping with the pastor and others two years in a row), great food, fun games, live band (I know the band very well too - they were talking to my children on the mic.. said, hey Donnie and hello spider man n woody!) :) ... my mother took my oldest to Sea World in Orlando yesterday for Sea World's Spooktacular.

BTW - it's currently 8:56 where I'm at! :)

Yea, and you were probably thinking with google analytics that was a lot of visitors right? Do you pay for advertising? probably not! do you have 600 or more links linking to your site? Are you number one on google when a popular searched term is searched such as "poetry" - I doubt it. If you answered no to these questions, it's nearly IMPOSSIBLE for you to get 150 visitors a day.

I mean no disrespect, but Connor... if you think you're site is getting a lot of traffic... you can probably cut the number down to about 10%. If you have 400 a day... it's probably 40!

I actually tested it three days in a row about a month ago, and for every 9 visitors google said I had... I actually had 1. If it said I had 36 visitors... I only had 4... this number is based soley on visitors not impressions. That's another figure, and they are both inaccurate on google analytics.
