I have purchased some Fotolia credits. I haqve Yola Silver. I want to change the banner on my premium site. The dimesions are 946 x 338.
Unfortunately, I cannot find a banner of the right dimensions in Fotolia so I am going to have to find oneito fit - the search for a correct sized banner is like trying to find a needle in a haystack :(
Please can you advise me: what would be the best size picture to purchase from Fotolia which will allow me to come nearest to that.
Should I then edit it in Picnik or do it with CSS?
thanks

I would get the largest size possible. It's much better to shrink an image than to stretch it. I would also edit it in Picnik as the optimization will be much better. Plus, you may have to do some creative cutting to get it to fit without changing the aspect ratio.

Thank you.

So, bearing in mind that the banner that I am trying to replace is 946 x 338, and the picture that I want to replace it with it, now that I am not using Juicy Fruit template :D is either 849 x 566 or 1688 x 1125 - I should go for the bigger one?

Hi debbym,

Yep, I would definitely go with the bigger banner image! With a larger image, you will have an easier way resizing it to fit your banner, instead of trying to enlarge an image that may start to pixelize.

Thank you Brianna.

My problem therefore is now how to find the right sized banner.

I find the search for the right design and topic in the "upload stock images" very difficult to use and basically it means trawling through reams and reams of photos even though I have put in as many keywords as I can think of that will get to something like what I want.

The actual Fotolia site is easier to use. Can the search be done through there and then the results transferred over to Yola? Did I purchase my credits from Yola or Fotolia?

thanks

Hi debbym

If you find that the Fotolia site is easier, then you can search there. Make sure to get the photo ID from the Fotolia site, e.g. #26288528. Then search for that photo ID in Yola.

If you have a Fotolia account, you can purchase the photos directly through their site and upload it to Yola. However, if you do not have a Fotolia account, you can use the suggestion I've given above.

Hope this helps.

That's great Nazlie - I didn't know that you could just put in the id number. I will certainly use the Fotolia site as it is more user friendly.

Please could you answer fthe rest of the question for me so that I am absolutely clear about this.

I used the Yola Silver 'credits' and purchased additional credits - up to 27 I think. Did I buy these from Yola or Fotolia?

Many thanks
