Hello Michael,

The Facebook 'Like' button is great! Now anyone who visits your site and likes it can send a link straight to the profile of all their own Facebook friends. That's impressive!

Adding a Facebook Like button to your site is quite simple but there are a few steps involved. There are a number of methods that a person could use but for your Yola site- we suggest using the iFrame method.

Here's what you do:

1. Follow the link to this FaceBook Plugin page, where you can read more about the button and get the code you will need for your Yola site. Toward the bottom of this page is the code generator. Enter the URL of your website in the field marked "URL to like", and amend any of the preferences you want.
2. When you've entered the information in, click on "Get Code" at the bottom of the code generator. A dialog box will pop up with the iFrame code you need to copy.
3. Copy and paste the iFrame code into a HTML widget in your Yola sitebuilder. You can add HTML by dragging and dropping an HTML Widget from the sidebar on the right onto your page (the icon for this is a blue sphere). An HTML editor will open up that will allow you to paste in your Facebook code. When you are done, click "OK" and you will see the way that the HTML displays on your page
4. Save the changes you have made in the sitebuilder and Preview your page. Your new Like button should be visible.

Hope this helps!

Hi Michael,

Would you mind sharing your site's URL so I can take a peek at how this feature is working on your blog posts? I believe that in order for a post to appear on the main feed page on Facebook, you need to physically post on Facebook, not from an external environment such as your blog.

When retrieving the code for your blog 'like' button, did you enter your website URL? If so, this is why you are being redirected to your homepage on your website instead of the blog page. I would suggest re-visiting the Facebook Plugin Page and entering the URL of your blog page. This should, in turn, direct people to your blog page.

Hi Michael,

Thanks for sharing your URL. I have gone ahead and 'liked' your ACL Reconstruction post on your website. When visiting Facebook and clicking on ACL Reconstruction:

It does in fact redirect me to your ACL Reconstruction blog post, not your homepage:

I do believe everything has been sorted. If you are seeing something different, please share it with me!
