recently yola made a cut-back in the numbers of free sites: 5 to 2, and it is still not popular for serving their wide range of customer's interest - right?

Hi Z.mailo,

I can say honestly that this really hasn't been the issue.

In fact the dissent has been limited on this forum and I was the most vocal. I anticipated a very marked response. There just hasn't been. So I guess the conclusion is that it isn't an unpopular decision.

Gop.

I did post on the package question this "With a reduction from 5 website's to 2 website's if i went back to free.Work lost! " but as you say not many seems to care about losing time and energy. Another thing to think about is the links your website built up will be lost by cutting the sites from 5-2.My Silver Premium will be up soon looks like i will go else where.

Apologies Robert,

The merging of topic threads means that I have lost track on that specific issue. I recall your post mentioning this. I hope that you don't lose any work because that is really sad.

I won't be losing the websites per say but only two sites would be published if i was to go back to free sites. Making the other websites sitting unpublished.( I know that we can download our websites then use FTP to transfer to another hosting company) but that can be a hassel and i would lose all back links to the sites so the bottom line is a lost as i see it!

Hi Robert,

May I ask how long you have been with Yola?

The bad news is though Robert, that you can no longer download your site to transport to another host. Yola have stopped that facility as well. That supported facility was discontinued a few months ago

Hello Gop,
It will be 3 years with Yola come April of 2012.

I did not realize that the download facility was no longer an option thanks for telling me.

Hi Robert

Sorry that your question about packages got removed when the topics were merged.

Are you saying that you currently have a Yola Silver package and only have 5 websites?

I need to clarify this about the new package structure: You will NOT lose any of the websites. What will happen if you choose not to renew your Yola Silver package, Robert, is that your sites will become unpublished. BUT you the actual websites will still be available in your account. You will then be able to choose which 2 of the 5 sites you would like to publish.

Another alternative, if you want to have all your 5 sites published, is to downgrade to Yola Bronze. You will then be able to publish all 5 of your websites.

See the Yola Pricing table for details of the new package structures.

I hope this helps to clarify things. If anything is still unclear, let us know.

Thank you
Nazlie

Hello,
I have 9 websites in Yola.
The actual websites available will do me no good if not published. So i consider this a lost.( Notice i did not say loss of websites in any of my posts just a loss. Which it is as i see it.Paying $9.95 a month for Yola Silver is $59.45 a year more than i am paying now.( I paid $59.95 for Yola Silver the last 2 years) Thats almot a 100% raise, so as i said i will not renew.
Yola bronze is a step back with less storage-less Number of sites published-No removal of branding-and no Access to premium domains
These are my facts as i see them.
Nothing personal here. And i will take the time to say to all staff and members.
MERRY CHRISTMAS!

Hi Brianna
Firstly I share Robert's sentiment and would like to wish Yola staff and Yola site holders a very merry Christmas.
I have followed the various threads regarding your new pricing structure with interest and after reading your last comment I would say that maybe instead of being reactive when account holders state they will not renew you may like to be proactive and reconsider your new packages, I manage a site for a silver account holder and will be recommending to them that they email you regarding a discount, I trust your comment above will extend to them.

Hi David,

Thank you for expressing your thoughts. I really wasn't being 'reactive', rather, in the Holiday spirit to offer a discount to Robert.

As we have released our new packages, there are not plans to restructure anytime soon. We are taking everyone's comments and suggestions very seriously for consideration down the road, however, we are happy to offer the new packages that we are.

If you would like to express any further questions or concerns in this regard, please feel free to share them on our forum or in email to our support team at support@yola.com.

Please note that we will be taking a leave for the Holidays and support will be very limited between December 24th and the New Year. If you are or your friends who you've asked to email support do not receive a reply immediately, please email us in the New Year and we'll be happy to communicate with you further.

Hi Brianna, thanks for your prompt response, as stated I personally have no concerns regarding the new pricing structure but I obviously have more then a passing interest in the site I manage. I think this site is up for renewal around February so would hope this 'holiday spirit' extends to then as I hope it extends to all silver account holders in the same situation.

Brianna - I really do not understand the pricing logic whereby you will give a discount to those who complain about the amounts charged. I do not consider this to be fair or professional. I am sure there will be many, like me, who have been loyal customers for some time, who have seen your prices rise considerably since the time of Synthasite and are quite frankly very disappointed. You should consider all your customers equal. Yes, give a discount in cases where perhaps you have specifically failed a specific customer like you would expect from a pie manufacturer when a beetle is found as the pie is cut open. You would not expect that manufacturer however to give a discount because the customer just thought the pies (without beetles!!) were too expensive. That would be an admission that the price of the pies was too high. If you consider the prices of Yola to be too high then please reduce your prices accordingly for everyone. Many, like me, must be considering their options for the future and will probably be taking their custom elsewhere, as we just cannot afford or justify the latest Yola increased charges. I want to remain loyal but I certainly will not be sending an email begging for a price reduction.
