There seems to be a problem with publishing the site.

For some reason, my site only partially publishes. I can create new pages, but I can't add dividers. One of the facebook functions does not work (one that previously did). Also, I can't always edit pages I already have. This is causing me problems. It started yesterday (1/19/12). Has anyone else been having this problem?

Hello admin

I'm sorry you're experiencing so many problems with your Yola website.
First, we're afraid that our Facebook update feature is not working at the moment, so we temporarily deactivated it. Our engineers are working on solving the problem, and soon as they're done, the feature will be available again. Sorry for any inconvenience.

For the other problems, please first try these basic trouble shooting steps and let us know if none of them solved your problem:

  • Try loading the site on a different computer or network to see if you experience the same problem.

  • Check to see if you are having problems with your network or internet service provider.

  • Clear your browser's cache. This link has more information: Clear your browser's cache.

  • Check your privacy settings. You must accept cookies from Yola. Please click on this link to find instructions for accepting cookies with your browser: Accept cookies.

  • Check that your browser is set to enable Javascript. This link has more information on how to check: Enable Javascript.

  • Try loading the site in a different browser (e.g., Chrome, Firefox, Safari, Internet Explorer).

I tried using another computer and I still had the same problem.

My two sites that have been affected are here -

http://jtylersarticles.org
http://games.jtylersarticles.org

The line problem happened the same time the facebook problem happened. However, the facebook code I use is this -

<div id="fb-root"></div>
<script>(function(d, s, id) {
var js, fjs = d.getElementsByTagName(s)[0];
if (d.getElementById(id)) return;
js = d.createElement(s); js.id = id;
js.src = "//connect.facebook.net/en_US/all.js#xfbml=1";
fjs.parentNode.insertBefore(js, fjs);
}(document, 'script', 'facebook-jssdk'));</script>

<div class="fb-facepile" data-href="http://jtylersarticles.org" data-width="650" data-max-rows="1"></div>

It seems like the code should update on its own. It worked until I started to have these problems.

On the websites with the code, it shows an error message - "Sorry, something went wrong" in the space of the code. I can edit my pages, and it works for the most part, except the line dividers aren't being recognized, at least not the new ones I try to create.

It does sound like a problem with the line code code and it jumps with the additional line codes.

Have you added any additional code to the styling of the separators?

Can you give me a specific page URL and a screen shot so I will know exactly how the error shows up or not?

Here's the error without the Facebook code - http://www.games.jtylersarticles.org/... - compared to -http://www.games.jtylersarticles.org/....

Here's one with the Facebook code - http://www.games.jtylersarticles.org/... - compared to - http://www.games.jtylersarticles.org/....

If there's a problem on your end, the first ones will have no line seperators while the second ones do.

Hi Admin it's great that you are working through this.

The very first one doesn't show a separator. The other three all do.

#3 and #4 have applets installed on the page which #1 and #2 don't. I presume this is to do with the games?

Are we on the same playing field?

It isn't Yola's divider, it's probably just the image or something. Anyway, the Facebook plugins now work again, but I'm still having the line divider problem.

Hi!

I'm glad that FB is back on deck that's a great step forward admin.

Now the horizontal line?

If you attempt to add it does the widget stay on the page or does it bomb out. i mean I guess is there anything that stays. When you re-open your site-builder can you see any evidence that there has been an attempt to add the separator?

Can you add the line using HTML directly?

It stays on the page. However, when I preview or publish, it isn't on that page, and if I leave the editing page, then go back (or refresh it), the line disappears. I'll try using html. What's the html code for the default line?

<hr/>

You can style this also including adjusting thickness of the line and length of the line.

The default length is 100%
The default thickness is 2 px

An example of length styling
<hr style="width:50%;" />

an an example of thickness styling
<hr style="height:2em;" />

To change the colour, an example would be
<hr style="color:#c00;" />

Using the code works, so I suppose I'll just do that until the problem's fixed. So far, I haven't noticed any other problems. I still wonder why the problem arose in the first place.

Thanks for helping me out through this.

Admin that's good that you have a workaround for now. It's very easy code so if it takes a while then it doesn't matter.

One thing I never asked you was the colour of your separator. I presume it was a grey colour?

Yes. I didn't customize the seperators at all, I just grabbed them from the side panel and put them on the site.

can I just ask if the colour of the separator was very close to your page colour itself?

The colors are similar, but the dividers are still distinguishable.
