I have tried both options for a google web search "show results on google in a separate window" and "open results within my own site" and I personally like it better when it opens in your own site. Looks better than google's plain, ugly, window. Try my search out... http://lyrics4you.synthasite.com and see if you like it.

It's definetly better in your own site page but it dosen't fit properly. Is the search meant to search your site or the web, Because it's searching the web?

yes, I know... site search doesn't work... it pulls up no results everytime. I want to create a site search which will ONLY search artist name, song, or album based on the user's preference... any suggestions?

Hi Donald,
Unfortunately Google's site search won't work if your site has not yet been indexed. Once your site is indexed, you will be able to set this up and it will search your domain.

so... I'm looking at several weeks before site searching is an option? What happens if a page isn't indexed?

Sorry I didn't get back to you sooner my ISP was down for awhile.

This is what I do in properties on every page...I am not an expert but this has worked well for me.This information is based on articles I have read here and there on the net.... Much from this site....http://website.grader.com/

Title: Company name... (A few things about your site in general, work in some of your keywords )7-12 words 70 characters max
Title is the first thing search bots see and you have not given much text for bots to feed off of.Look at the very top of your browser and you will see page titles...Check out music.com as it relates to what you are going to do and have a look at their page title.

Description: A little more refined description about the page than title..Do not make it exactly the same as the title but similar 15-20 words 90 characters max.

Keywords: 10 to 12 words avoids diluting them and also you won't appear as a spam site...Many seem to think keyword phrases are the way to go.

I also have very few pages in my Nav bar and make my own text links on my home page...This allows me to make pages that have key words about that page in the actual URL.

Oh when I say max on words and characters ....You can go less is you feel you have said what you want. These are just guidelines that from what I have read it is best not to exceed.

yes, my sites are verified with Google Webmaster... I copied the meta tag into the Webmaster portion of the properties in the home page and then clicked verify on webmasters and they confirmed my site was verified... but it still says none of my pages are indexed and also says, indexing may take some time, please read "information for webmasters"... I also submitted sitemaps for each of my sites. As far as I know, I have done everything I can to get indexed. But hey... please look an see what I have and tell me what you think of the appearance... http://lyrics4you.synthasite.com/ and look at this page too... the appearance is my main concern for now... I don't want to go too far into creating the site and then find out I need to fix all the pages... http://lyrics4you.synthasite.com/the-.... if a photo is copyrighted... will it say somewhere close to the photo that this photo or photos on this site may be copyrighted?
