Craig, thanks for posting your site address, was wondering what your site was going to look like, as had been following a few of the questions you were posting. Goodness, what a lot of work, this is amazing! Time and patience in putting this together... I can only just imagine, as lots of info going into those boxes and layout.
The colouring looks good and really flows very well throughout.
Three small items, if I may..... one saw spelling - first page down towards bottom the word "Mediterrean" - Second, the green logo on top right, something about it that seems odd to page, but that may just be me? - thirdly, do pay to delete the made by yola at bottom footer.
from my point of view... A great professional site - huge kudos to you in all the work you have put in and the results. Give yourself a 'pat' on the shoulder, or perhaps many?? By the way, good luck with all the 'upkeep' it is superb!!

Thanks for the heads up on the spelling I wouldnt have lived tht down lol, I know what you mean with the green design its just because of the page banner border and there is no page lines to make it look more relative to the page unfortunately!!

(Par) - An amount or level considered to be average ...

I'm sure this is the only time you are going to enjoy being above it, Craig :-)

Hey Craig!

Looks great! You have done a fantastic job in putting together this website and I know you have put in so many hours of hard work into your site!

Here are a few things I did notice which you may want to take under consideration:

1. I always think it looks more uniform and consistent when your menu tabs are all the same height and width.

2. There appears to be dotted lines which run across the page, which interferes with the pictures on the right-hand side or pushes out of the box.

3. Where you have the "Medal 2008, Medal 2009" and "Stableford, 2008, 2009", I would make the Stableford boxes align evenly across the top.

4. You have a lot of content on that page.. it may be worth your while to break it up into subpages or create a new page with some of that information. e.g. the section on website links could be it's own page as well as members.

5. On your "Courses Played" page, it may be a neat idea to have a little index along or along the top where you can set up anchor links. e.g. if you click on "A" - the page drops down the section where all the golf courses that start with the letter A begin.

BTW.. if you are trying to set it up alphabetically, I think this one is out of sync - "AYR BELLEISLE"

A job well done Craig! You should be very happy with your efforts!

Hi Sanja thanks for your comments :-

1. I thought my menu tabs were the same size and height will need to have a look at that!!

2. Do you mean the dotted lines that split up most of the boxes i have on the front page if so do you know of a way to insert a line in html or css so that its not input by typing it on manually?

3. I have checked on firefox and they looked aligned ok to me not sure if you are maybe using a different brwser than myself?

4. I will look into this although some of the content will be changing so it will probably get shortened soon!

5. I like this idea not sure how to do this but I will look into it for the courses page.

Thanks

C

Hi Craig. Very attractive site. I'm continually amazed by the talented site builders at Yola.

Unlike, Sanja, I like the uneven menu tabs on the white background. Feel free to ignore me though.

You've come a long way...!! Very impressive. All the neatly rounded boxes really add to it. While I agree with Sanja on the menu tabs for the most part, at least it is balanced so it's not too bad. Not seeing the dotted lines in Safari. The syndicate page is not currently password protected? Really nice work, you can be proud of yourself.

Hi Diane, yeah not password protected that page yet, will do so at a later date when the syndicate is up and running as dont want people's phone numbers spreading over the net!! Thanks for your comments.

Craig, hello back again, just a thought. Your site is really looking professional, but thought perhaps a little 'busy' on front page, but that may be only my point of view. As seems a lot of info to get through and perhaps some could be carried to another page/area? Anyway, just a thought from me and others may think not. All the best with it.

Hi Jen, Yeah was thinking that but this page will be redone soon and most of the content will be reduced when the update is done so it will get shorter but your ideas are noted, cheers for your comments.

Hi Craig, I have to agree with JenC the first page is too busy.

However i do only have dialup and i am used to slow websites, but yours took me almost 7 minutes to get all of it in !

Normaly i would leave a site after a couple of minutes if it had not all downloaded.

With most people having high speed surfing these days i think some builders are putting to much on one page, and forgeting there are still a lot of people still on dial up.

Hope you don't mind my comments.

All the best.

Tony.

Hi Craig,

Very handsome site. I like a clean-looking design and your site has that. The images, colors, layout - all handsome and all work well together. Do you mind if I ask which template you are using? Of course, it's obvious that you worked it over a great deal, with many modifications, but I'd be interested to know how you started out, if that's okay.

had a look on ie8 as well and no lines there either Sanja lol, cheers for the heads up anyway. Only thing that pains me is that the members section does not show up correctly on ie8 as its all over the place and a few of my members use ie8, any ideas people?

Craig, was wondering if you would mind sharing the code for the 'add to favourites' (ie bookmark) on front page? Or, perhaps send to wherever code is so that I may use. I have the normal one, ie bookmark, email etc, but would like one simple like yours. Being cheeky, hope you don't mind?

Hi Jen,

this is the code you are after: -

<!--<p style="text-align: center;">
<a style="font-weight: bold;" title="Bookmark this site" href="javascript:bookmarksite('Abbotsford%20Golf%20Section','http://abbotsfordgolfsection.yolasite...>
<img style="margin: 0px; padding: 0px; width: 139px; height: 28px; float: none;" src="resources/favourites.png" alt="bookmark star" border="0">
</a><a style="color: rgb(0, 0, 0);" title="Bookmark this site" href="javascript:bookmarksite('Abbotsford Golf
Section','http://abbotsfordgolfsection.yolasite...>
</a></p>-->

Obviously you have to change the address to match your own website!!

Great Site

One suggestion you may consider is a return to top of page. I, Myself hate scrolling to top of page to get to menu again.

<!--<a style="color:#12A11D;" href = '#'>Return To Top Of Page</a>-->

Or Perhaps a second menu at bottom of page.

Once again Great Site

Wow Craig, your site is a sight for sore eyes - pun intended!

If Yola has a gallery they should put your site there as an example of what can be done with the Yola site builder.

Congratulations!

You did a wonderful job on your site. Your banner seems to fit very well with your site.

Here a suggestion at http://golfabbotsford.yolasite.com/ you can view. Was using it for a site before I closed it. I'll leave it up for a week or so before taking it down.

Hey craig very nice job. How did you create menu tabs that change colors when you go over the top and how did you create sub menus? Like on the misc?": Also how did you get the menu tabs to say what they are when you scroll over them? You should def edit the html in the slide phot thing so the advertisements don't show it will look more professional

Yeah, good question about the submenus, Brennan. I've been wondering if we were going to get that feature soon (Weebly has it)!

As to the menu tabs changing colour, I don't know what template you're using, but the ones I use have this feature, so I guess it's built into the template design.

RE Bookmark this site script for Craig and others using this script.

I used a similar script, Craig, then took it down when I saw this problem for Firefox users.

When a Firefox user clicks your link, the site is added to their bookmarks. The problem comes in when they open the site from their bookmarks. It opens in a sidebar rather than the main window. That may be fine for some who can figure out how to get it to the main window, but if your visitors are not especially computer savvy they'll be frustrated and may likely give up on your site.

Not sure if there is a fix to the code or not. If you really want to use the script, you may want to research it. There may be another code that works differently but from what I could tell, it's common firefox behavior.

btw, I tried the link on your site and it worked exactly as I just described in Firefox.

Margie,

I think you may be missing something when you are adding this bookmark and others also, as when you click on the bookmark it gives you the option to save the page into your favourites but it also has a tick box which you need to untick as this is why it is added to a sidebar!! You have to untick the box!!!

It aint got to do with people being computer savy its more to do with reading whats on screen!!
