I thought it easier to show you rather than to write a tutorial out and hurt my fingers... (LOL) Sadly I went through 4 screen recorders before I found this simply perfect one called Jing (see bottom of page) After 3 days and 22 attempts (maybe more) here is a step by step to make your Windows Publisher work within a Synthasite text widget... Not only did I have a cold when I recorded it my voice was getting sore repeating it so many times...

Step 1

Step 2

Step 3

Finished product and at the bottom of the page you can download the 3 easy step tutorial.

Here is a free vector clip art thread I started for images with transparent backgrounds for multiple image layers in your Publisher.

Here is one of my threads with a transparent image generator to take any GIF clip-art image under 400KB and turn it into an image with a transparent background.

Aren't I usually good for some pretty cool stuff??? ;) Too bad there wasn't a Synthy Statue or Award (LOL)

P.S. I have been using it for days without fail or complication...

Happy site building

So I got a wild hair and thought to myself what if I can create an image in publisher with as many images as I could pack into a picture and then create an imagemap without the imagemap so to speak...

I am working out the bugs on a purely images (imagemap) without the need to code or plot coordinates ever again. This one here has 10 separate images in total with links on 9 of the 10.

10 layers of images in the place of one standard image location. It works great in Firefox and Opera but I seem to have issues with it in my older version of IE. Can everybody test it out and see if it is just me in IE...

I think I am having too much fun with my creation.... ;)

Ed's creation of an Editor/Builder is simply brilliant.

I would presume that Synthasite Central are sitting there gob smacked. An all in one true WYSIWYG editor. Pre designed layouts are now redundant in the sense of BODY structure. So you want a two over 4?You want a 15 over 5? No problem. Jing jing! Done by the user.

No longer the frustration of misaligned text and images. What's more you can put them exactly where you want to, from the banner, or anywhere within the body. All of a sudden SynthaSite builder has become a true canvas.

Any colour, any background, any layout. You want to extract the last feed headline and make into a feature headline, link it, from anywhere within the site. Dynamic stop press in red. Jing! It's there. No more growing text boxes ( we hope)

"Website Wallpaper" designers probably won't even have to leave their primary editors to post their creations into their sites. Creation can be done in the secondary builder. Font size problems? Pretty well no-more, no worse than Word anyhow. Fonts? Have to wait on that one. I would say that today's publication is probably a milestone for Synthasite and users. Three days ago we were asking for all those features in authoring tools and today it looks as if they are delivered.

Thank you Ed for your hard work and thank you Synthasite for facilitating it.
What we need now is an open image map feature. What? It's here! Where?

Marvellous. (Let's run it for a while on trial pages)

Talking about gob smacked, I think most of the users are as well.
I know I am. I'm still trying to absorb all of this.

Three days, three video tutorials and one guy (confirmed now Haha)
Well done Ed, Edd and Eddie. I think you lied about your IQ.
Good stuff man. I don't know what else to say.

Why are the employees so quiet? Maybe they don't want to endorse it yet?

OK so I have to edit my lucky comment... It had more to do with the need in others minds for a solution and the man upstairs to push me to try everything under the sun until it worked... ;) I have been playing around with it for many days now and it has never bugged out or failed me yet. It is quite friendly once you get the hang of it and amazingly enough from Publisher to Update in under 5 minutes when you learn the ins and outs. That is unless you have an old computer and a resource hungry screen recorder program to slow down your computer when you are trying to make a tutorial for all others to see and understand...

Ed

P.S. I wanna hear how easy or hard my video tutorial was... OK... So everyone who tries it let me know...

FYI...

As I stated in the video tutorials that if you take one of the top images such as the cow or the house from a layered image and drag it off the background image it will blank out the image and all you will have is an empty box. This it true however if you first move the background image of the layered image by means of the directional tab to another location on the text widget then you can return and drag the upper images to the backgrounds new location as the upper images now have a directional tab and have been freed from the confinement code of the layered image. As long as you begin from the bottom up you can facilitate the move.

Additionally, you can not only edit and add content to the text boxes within the text widget but also add images by means of the usual click and select image from the toolbar.

A little playing around and I am sure that you will get it in no time...
