Time to choose a domain name - please advise!

I've worked every day on my main Yola website for almost four months -- a lot of work! It's nearing the point where I can launch it, at long last. My site is about a famous Italian artist who lived from 1400 to 1450. I'd like to ask for your thoughts about a good domain name. I'm thinking of using something like www.GianniVerdi101.com (where Gianni Verdi would be replaced by the artist's actual name). The number "101" refers to the designation American colleges often use for an introductory course (French 101, Psychology 101, Math 101, etc.) I've been thinking of using this as a kind of "brand" for other, future sites -- Citizenship 101, DeepThoughts 101, stuff like that. What do you think? I'd be grateful for your advice and experience.

Hi Keara,

It's great to hear you are putting such thought into your domain name, it is a very important part of web design!

Here is a link to some more information we put together on this very topic: Tips for choosing a domain name.

If your site is all about a specific artist, using her/his name in the domain name is a great idea! Good luck :)

Hi Keara,
happy to hear that your 'Angel' is ready to launch.

Actually I'm not an expert in choosing a domain, but try to keep it short and rememberbable.

Also, 101 gives a sence about a business.(like Twitter101 , Google 101)

I've no good suggestions.

I like your idea for a domain name, Keara. The "101" is self explanatory, which is always good. Since the artist name is first, anyone searching for the artist by name will easily find you.

Margie, would you be willing to contact me at coldenham@yahoo.com? I'd love to hear from you. Perhaps together we can work toward overcoming the limitations of the GS software. And have fun while doing so!
