Hello aeropup

Currently, there isn't a way to transfer sites in between accounts. I'm sorry.

You can download a .zip file of your site, but you wont be able to upload it to Yola again to back it up because this .zip feature is mainly for if you want to host your Yola site on your own server.

This is truly horrific. I have been building a Class Website for a year and it has grown to about 160 pages. I have been so busy keeping up with the activity, that I haven't thought about saving all of the content "as is" until recently. It would be ugly to have to rebuild the whole thing, and now I find out it is impossible to back up the content without saving each page of text, losing all of the formatting, and saving each of the photos individually, all carefully postioned, aligned and sized. Why did Yola remove the download ability? If I have to go to all this trouble to save my content, particularly without formatting, I think I will go elsewhere. Any thoughts on this Yola?

Hi aeropup

As Nathan has mentioned, there is no way for you to transfer a site between accounts yourself. However, if it is something that you really need to do, we may be able to assist. Please email your request to us at support@yola.com and we will see if we can help out.

Also, just to clarify on Nathan's point, we have removed the ability to download sites from our Sitebuilder. If you would like to backup your content to your computer, it is a good idea to save the text in .txt files and keep the pictures saved on your computer.

Hope this answers your questions. If you have any more questions, please let us know.

Thank you
Nazlie

Hello aeropup,

If you would like to download your site, follow these steps:

1. Load the sitebuilder of the site you would like to download

2. Paste the following snippet into the URL bar (erasing what is already there)

javascript:void((new ide.requests.actions.downloadSite()).send({site:ide.user.getSite()}))

Once you hit "Enter" your site will start to download to your computer. Make sure there is a space between "new" and "ide" - it could be removed in this post.

Please note that self publishing has been deprecated and Yola cannot offer any support if you have difficulties hosting your site elsewhere. However, we encourage you to make use of our free hosting service which includes 99% uptime, DoS protection and 24/7 support. Please also note that if you download your site, you won't be able to re-upload it to the Sitebuilder.
