I currently have my site hosted with FatCow but would like to transfer it to Yola. How do I do this? I tried the transfer option but very confusing & didn't work. I have had the site just under a year & I'm listed as the registrant.

Hello Michelle,

Are you wanting to transfer your domain to Yola, or a site that you have all ready built. It is possible to transfer your domain, here are the instructions: Tranfer domain to Yola, however it is not possible to transfer an all ready built site to Yola as for a site to work in Yola it needs to be built using the Sitebuilder tools.

Please let us know if you have any further questions or troubles with the transfer process.

Yes I want to transfer my domain to Yola & use Sitebuilder. On WhoIs Results it says Domain Status: Client Transfer Prohibited & Client Update Prohibited. Thanks

Hi Michelle,

If you submitted the transfer and made a payment to Yola, please could you post the domain name so that we can find out what has happened.

The message you see on WHOIS means that your domain name is locked and not transferable. You'll need to make sure that the domain name is unlocked before trying again.

If you have already tried once and made payment on Yola, we can re-initiate the transfer (at no extra charge to you) after you've unlocked the domain. But as far as I know, we automatically check whether the domain is unlocked before accepting payment and initiating the transfer.

How do I unlock my domain? I have not transferred or made a payment to Yola yet - I tried to do the transfer but it would not let me. So I checked the WhoIs data & that's when I saw Client Transfer Prohibited.

Hello Michelle,
The unlocking would need to be done with your domain registrar. I would suggest that you send your current registrar an email letting them know you will be transferring your domain and could they unlock it for you. Then you can go through the tutorial I posted in the first comment and begin the transfer process. Let us know if you have further questions.
