Hi guys,

I'm trying to edit the Modern Interiors template and can't seem to figure out how to change the color of the top half of the template (to #f3f3f3). I was able to go into the CSS editing mode and change the top navigation bar and the bottom half of the template, but no luck with the top section surrounding the banner image. It looks like it may be a linked image, but deleting the link and adding a color tag didn't work.

Any assistance would be much appreciated!!!

Hi,

Modern Interiors has multiple references to images for the background(s). It's quite a process to identify them all. If you haven't already done so I would download Firebug and use this with FireFox specifically (Firebug is available for Chrome but has limited functionality)

It's quite straight-forward to identify the elements with Firebug and the associated code and you can make temporary/test changes without jeopardising the functioning code. When you have it right then you just copy the changed CSS and place it in your over-rides or an inline CSS.

I'm sorry that I can't do this presently as I'm using a limited computer that wouldn't carry the weight of FF and Fb concurrently.

Hello again Kelly,

I've probably become too dependent on Firebug :)

I was working on the Style "Modern Interiors" and noticed that in fact you can change the upper part of the background with Yola provided controls but not the Navigation Menu Zone background. (the very top say approx two centimeters (1 in)

To change the dark part of the upper background Click on Style then on the right hand side of the preview styles there is a three button choice. Select edit background and uncheck "Use a background image". Add your colour code to the appropriate reserved field and this will effect the background change.

If you are wanting to change the Navigation Menu Zone then you would be better bringing in something like Firebug to help you identify the markup and make the change.

Hi Gop, thanks for the replies! I thought I had tried the background image thing, but it must've been on another template... Worked like a charm! I had already changed the navigation menu zone and was just stuck on that final image-based section.

Also, thanks for the Firebug hint... I downloaded it and it seems like a great tool. I can't believe I've never come across it before!

Glad you have been able to mod the style Kelly. Firebug is a tool that I think you will enjoy using.
