I am trying to implement this http://cu3ox.com/ into my yola site and am having problems.

This is the directions cu3ox gave me for using it without FTP server access but I can't seem to work it out-
> And is there a way I can embed the slideshow on my websites without access to FTP server?

You should add cu3ox gallery inside your website in the same
way as you change html code on your website:

1. Create the gallery in CU3OX application.
2. Publish it to html page (in any test folder of your computer).
3. open the page in your program
4. open html source code of the page
5. add several rows of code:

in the BODY tag (in the place where you want to have a 3d gallery) paste

...
<!-- Start CU3OX.com BODY section -->

...
...

<!-- End CU3OX.com BODY section -->
...

6. Copy the generated folders (with images and xml, css, js, swf files) in the root folder of
your website.
7. Preview your web site in the browser.

That's all.

Can anyone help???

Hi, Shannon W,

You will need to upload the images, xml, css, js and swf files to your File Manager. Before uploading, however, you will need to open them in Notepad or Text Edit (for Mac) and change all the urls to reflect where you have uploaded them to. So, for example, the css file may have urls for the images; so you would change the urls to something like this: resources/image1.png. So all the urls within these files css, xml and js will need to have resources added to them. Also, add any folder names you have such as: resources/images/image1.png.

Next, you will need to open the html file in your text editor, change any urls there (there will be references to the css, xml, js and swf files as well as images). Next, copy and paste the code into an HTML widget on your site. Save and publish.

This can be very tricky to get it to work properly. I hope this helps.

I suppose this is a pretty obvious question on my part, but do you have Yola Silver?
As you will need a Silver package to upload Javascript. I am understanding that there are js folders you will need to upload right?

Without actually trying this software out my self not sure what more I can do to help. Is there any chance you can post your domain so we can see what you have done so far and/or post the provided code?

Oh and thanks a lot I have been looking for something just like this for a clients site, hopefully we can get it working :)

I do have Yola Silver.
I cannot work out how to do it the way Diane suggested.
Perhaps you could download the trial as well and see if you have any luck working it out. (http://cu3ox.com/
I really want to get this program to work as well for my own sites as well as for clients sites!

Hi ShannonW,

I work for a web developing company and we just ripped this exact gallery out of a site last week, flash (in my opinion) is slow loading and not exactly SEO friendly + it's harder to change the code to allow it to populate from a set of database results. (not that that effects you, just explaining why we did it)

We replaced it with a jquery slider > Have a look through these examples > http://www.1stwebdesigner.com/css/57-...

Any of the examples above or in fact the cu3ox.com slider will work with Yola.

If after looking through the query examples you still want to use the cu3ox slider reply on this thread and I will help you install it step by step. Or of course if you like 1 of the query sliders and you need help installing that just ask.

Hi Lee I would love to get some help to get cu3ox to work with Yola.
At the moment I'm using http://www.wondershare.com/pro/flash-... but we would ultimately like to be able to use cu3ox for its 3d elements.

Hi ShannonW,

I can help you get it done no problem.

The first thing I did was download the 'free for windows' version.
Then unzip the download and run the .exe
After that just drag images into the program window and publish your work.

You end up with 2 folders ('data' & 'engine') and an index.html

Give me a shout when you have those ready to go.

Lee.

great,

open the images folder and upload each image to file manager - just put them straight in the resources folder (rather than in a sub folder) to make it easier.

Then do the same with all the content of the 'engine' folder.

Let me know when you've done that,

ok - this is the tricky part

I need you to right click on the index.html file and open in it with notepad.

Let me know when that's open and we'll go through the changes 1 by 1.

first put an html widget at the top of the page you want it displayed on.
and this code (don't include the <!-- and the --> )
<!--
<script language="JavaScript" src="resources/swfobject.js" type="text/javascript"></script>
-->

Shannon,

It is going to be hard for me to explain every single change over these messages.

If you attach the index.html to an email and send it to me (admin@hexham.info)

I'll send you back the amended version.

Stick this on th epage where you want the slideshow to display <!--

<div id ="cu3ox" style="width:960px;height:496px;margin:0 auto;">
<div id ="cu3ox1"></div>
<script language="JavaScript" type="text/javascript">
swfobject.createSWF(
{data:"resources/cu3ox.swf", width:"100%", height:"100%" },
{FlashVars:"images=resources&cfgsuffix=1",menu:true, allowFullScreen:false, allowScriptAccess:'sameDomain', wmode:"transparent", bgcolor:'#FFFFFF',
devicefont:false, scale:'noscale', loop:true, play:true, quality:'high'}, "cu3ox1");
</script><a style="display:none" href="http://cu3ox.com">Flash Image Viewer by cu3ox.com v1.6</a><noscript>
<object classid="clsid:d27cdb6e-ae6d-11cf-96b8-444553540000"
codebase="http://download.macromedia.com/pub/sh..."
width="100%" height="100%" id="cu3ox1" align="middle">
<param name="allowScriptAccess" value="sameDomain" /><param name="allowFullScreen" value="false" />
<param name="movie" value="resources/cu3ox.swf" /><param name="quality" value="high"/><param name="scale" value="noscale"/>
<param name="wmode" value="transparent" /><param name="bgcolor" value="#ffffff" />
<param name="FlashVars" value="images=resources&cfgsuffix=1" />
<embed src="resources/cu3ox.swf" quality="high" scale="noscale" bgcolor="#ffffff" width="100%" height="100%" name="cu3ox" wmode="transparent"
align="middle" allowScriptAccess="sameDomain" allowFullScreen="false" type="application/x-shockwave-flash"
pluginspage="http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/" />
</object></noscript>
</div>

-->

You may need to republish to get it to work.

Let me know how that goes.

Will I be able to use the above code for other slide shows on different sites or will it need to be modified for each slideshow?

If I get 5 minutes after work tonight I'll try to show you where and what I changed in the code, so you can do it yourself.

Glad it worked out.
