Tumblr blog not showing up after adding widget

Just added the tumblr widget and created a tumblr account a little bit ago. I filled out all the basics on the tumbler website for my profile and settings, added the widget to my yola website and connected to it by entering in my tumblr username as requested. I checked 3 times for typos in my username to see if I goofed up, there were no typo errors. But for some reason the blog does not show up at all. All I see is a narrow white rectangle box that shows nothing and I have tried refreshing the page, exiting out of browser etc. but no change. Help please? My yola site is not published yet as I am still working on the basics, I want it to look nice before publishing. Does my site have to be published first before the blog will show up?

Hi Midnight Autumn,

Wondering if the text is invisible? eg: white text on a white background.

An easy way to check this is to drag your cursor over the Tumblr rectangle while holding down your mouse button. The ghost text should be revealed momentarily. If so then you need to change your text colour setting.

Hello Midnight Autumn,

If Gop's suggestion does not work, please let us know your site URL so that we can look at this more closely.

Many thanks!

I already checked that before I made this post because I saw other people mentioning that in previous topics. I am using black text on white background. That rectangle was only around 80 px tall by like 950 px wide, the size of a very slender banner and dragging/highlighting over it with the mouse does nothing at all. No text appears. I have checked my settings elsewhere and it's not a sizing issue either. I am very OCD about stuff like this so I can assure you I have already checked multiple times to make sure my text settings were okay and made sure I did not somehow resize the widget from my tumblr account.

Every successful website needs a blog that is built in, otherwise the blog does nothing for the sites SEO if the blog is an embedded widget on only one page. Google likes blogs that are integrated into separate pages, which means more chances to get seen in search. I know Yola keeps saying they decided not to focus on the blog aspect but when dozens of people are unhappy about it and having problems with tumblr left and right, the decision to still ignore the demand for an official blog is not very good for PR. Even Yola has a blog.

Hello, i agree, yola is a nice sitebuilder but if you check any website builder comparison chart you will see that yola loses one star just becouse dont have a blog.

Solutions - So if you want a blog to increase your business chances to be found online, just follow the yola advice, choose another site builder.

Hi Midnight Autumn,

Thank you for your feedback about having a blog on your site. The points you have made, are all valid. However, we have to emphasise that the Tumblr integration is our current default blog option and there are no plans to further develop the previous Yola blog.

As for the problems that you're having with the Tumblr widget not displaying your content, can I ask that you please email support@yola.com with your Yola account/site information, as well as the link to your Tumblr blog, so that we can do some testing on your site?
