Hi, my Tumble feed is not working in Yola. I past in the widget, enter my tumblr. name and It connects and displays the blog ́s name correctly, but doesn ́t show the text I posted; instead it shows just an empty post...
Any ideas?
Thanks for your help!

Best Wishes,
Derek

Hello Derek

I'm afraid that your Sitebuilder URL will not help me look into your problem. Can you please post the domain name of your published website? Or haven't you published your site? Or does the problem only occur in Preview of your Sitebuilder?

Hi,
thanks! The site is not yet published, I first wanted to try it out and see if I ́ll go the Tumblr route.
Will it only work when the site is published?

Just checked - posting a photo works, but not text...strange...

Best,
D.

Hi Derek,

I tested in my account and both text and pictures showed up in my Sitebuilder preview without publishing. I understand that your website isn't published but if you're comfortable sharing your Tumblr url here I am happy to test it in my account as well to see if the problem is specific to your Sitebuilder or your Tumblr account.

Hello Derek

By copying the Site ID of the Sitebuilder URL you posted above, I was able to find your Yola account with your website.

The reason why your posts seem to be empty is that the setting of your general paragraph text colour is white. This setting also applies for the text of your Tumblr Widget posts. So your text is actually there, it just becomes invisible because it's white font on a white background colour.

I'm afraid that the background colour of your Tumblr Widget posts is white by default and cannot be changed. However, there is a workaround if you're ready to work with custom CSS coding.

What you could do is set the paragraph text colour to black on your Blog page only as an exception. Please note: Any other widget you add to this page will also have a black text colour if text is involved (Text Widget, Form Widget, etc.), so that text will get invisible again (black text on black background). So this workaround will only make sense if that's no problem, e.g. because you will just have your Blog Widget on that page, anyway. If you use other widgets that involve paragraph text, you will need to put them on a Custom Panel Widget with a light colour for the text to stay legible.

Here are the steps for the custom CSS workaround:
  1. Copy this code fully:
    <style type="text/css">

    .content p, #content p, .HTML_Default p, .Text_Default p, .sys_txt p, .sys_txt a, .sys_layout p, .sys_txt, .sys_layout {
    color: #000000;
    }
    </style>

  2. Open your Blog Page in your Sitebuilder.

  3. Go to the "Widgets" tab.

  4. From the "Popular" section, drag and drop an HTML Code Widget to your page and place it at the very top.

  5. The HTML Editor opens. Paste the code you copied above into the editor.

  6. Click on "Save".

  7. Check the result in Preview.
The colour of your blog post text will now be black and therefore visible.

Finally! I found a help post to solve the same issue I've been wrestling with. My Tumblr post was there the whole time-just invisible white on white. I changed my font color using style designer and it solved the problem. Wish I knew this from the start.

Thanks.
Howard

Thank you so much for your praise, Derek. I'll be absolutely fine if you just post a beer picture here or something. Let us know if you have more questions in future.
