Two quick questions about custom panels.

Is it possible to save a custom panel to be used on more than one page at the same time, or do I need to recreate it for each page I want to use it on?

Is it possible to lock the size of a custom panel so it will scroll up and down if the content is bigger than the custom panel?

If this is not possible any suggestions how I can accomplish this.

Thanks,

R

Hi Richard

Both great questions:

1) Right now it is not possible to save the settings of your custom panel widget. However, this is something we would like to add in future.

2) It is also not possible to lock the size of a custom panel, but we are looking into ways to make it easier for you to vertically align the heights of adjacent custom panel widgets. We are not sure if vertical scrolling is the right solution, but this is one possibility that we will consider along with others that could allow you to achieve the desired effect.

Right now I don't have any good workaround for you, but we do love the design potential of the custom panel widget and are looking forward to improving it further!

Monique thanks for the quick response.

It would be very handy to be able to save and reuse a custom panel as would the ability to lock the size so let’s hope we will able to in the future.

I just started playing around with the custom panel widget and agree with some changes it has massive design potential.

Thanks again

It would be great for each setting to have a set as default check box.

Great news! We have just released the ability to save and reuse your custom panel settings! When you add a custom panel widget you will now see the option to "save preset" under the "Preset" tab. When you drop a new custom panel widget you can select from the default options as well as any presets you have saved!

I am really excited about this feature as I find the custom panel widget one of the most useful design elements, and the ability to reuse my settings will really save a lot of time.

Try it out and let us know what you think!

We are still working on a solution for vertical alignment of custom panel widgets. I am not saying we will do it by allowing you to lock the size, as that could create other issues, but whatever we do it will be designed to achieve the desired result. I can't say when this will be released, but stay tuned!

Monique hi,

I have been playing with the custom panel widget and find one thing that would really be good is the ability to save the content in a custom panel too. The ability to do this would really make the custom panel widget very useful .

I have created this on Wix http://tigerrag.wix.com/featuredartist#! For my website and was hoping I could recreate something similar using the custom panel widget. I know the control would not be the same but still would be nice if I could use Yola to do it.

I have also created a very quick and incomplete slideshow http://slideful.com/v20140218_1613707... and with some more work could work quite well within a custom panel again would be nice if I could do this within Yola and have no need to go anywhere else.

Anyone have any suggestions on how I could generate something similar to the Wix one using the custom panel widget.

Many thanks,

R
