I am unable hightlight my pictures on my index page for linking to the appropriate page. The image was placed on the page using the photo widget on the side bar.

Hi Lauren,

You just need to click on the image to highlight it.

It needs to be selected so that its specific properties are in the properties bar when you want to add a link.

If you are still unable to do this (or are getting an error) please email us at support@synthasite.com and we will try to assist you further.

Emmy,

First, I can not highlight the picture on the index page. Aren't we supposed to highlight what we want to link before we click the link widget?

Second, there is no link widget on the right Properties bar to click on, only the link icon at the top of the page.

Thirdly, I am in Firefox.

I will try this in Explorer, but I have the flu and am running on fumes. Get dizzy looking at the screen. I will get back to you on Saturday, maybe I will be able to think a little more clearly.

Thanks a bunch, :)

Emmy,

I am missing this entire tool bar when I click on the picture. By the way the highlighted picture is surrounding by a red and white broken line. So it is highlighted. As I said I have no link widget to use.

Goodness Gracious! I have figured out how to link the picture. Here are the steps.

1. Use text widget to create box.
2. Click on the image widget icon on the top text tool bar. Select your image and upload it.
3. Click on the picture, which brings up the text tool bar on top again.
4. Click the link widget icon, which brings up the links box.
5. Choose url or page link.
Return to your page.

This works.

Hi Lauren,

Glad to hear you worked it out!

If you do prefer to use the image widget to add a picture, you can click on the Properties tab on the sidebar on the right and view the Properties of the image. In the Properties is the ability to add a link to the image:

I hope that helps!

Marije....I think your way is the better way to do this as it allows for alt text tags.My images come up in many different image searches and I think it is because of using so many alt text tags.Such as some images on my site may be in more than one place and I change up on keywords used on alt tags...I could be wrong of course but it has seemed to help me.

Now that I see this alternate way, I have to agree with John that this way would be better because you can enter text tags. I'll go right now and change the images.

Lauren

Thanks, Marje and John
