I am getting unwanted spam messages from the "contact me" widget. It appears to be the same perpetrator each time on many occasions. Whats the best way to minimize this, or should I remove the "Contact Me" widget?

For example I have been receiving immature messages of the following nature:

Name Highland Bear
Email highland-bear@jungle.ca
Phone 666-666-7777
Message Those documents are not papers as per "journal papers". They are simply opinionated essays! You are guilty of academic misrepresentation!!

Before it was "Salmon Fish" with another immature message - they are obviously fake email accounfs.

I am not aware of any method to reduce this, I have a Wufoo form I use as a contact point and I receive the occasional spam message, with Wufoo you can limit entries to one per ip address but you may penalise genuine customers.
Unfortunately if its really bothering you I think the only way is to delete the form, maybe someone else can chip in here with a solution.

Hi tylercherrington

Unfortunately, having an online presence does bring along some unwanted problems such as spam. While we are sympathetic to this problem and find it as annoying and frustrating as I am sure you do, there is not much we can do about this matter and it is out of our control.

Yola does not store information about the emails you receive from your forms, both for technical and legal reasons. As David has suggested, you may want to consider using a Wufoo form so that you have more control over the number of entries.
