upgrade to silver for free domain name?

I thought by upgrading to Silver I would be given a free domain name, separate to the one I already had free when I first set my website up with Yola. I have a '.co.uk' site but want to have the '.com' address to be able to trade more globally and link it to the co.uk address but it says I have to pay for it? Have I misunderstood the deal??!

I think you're right, John! Unless times have changed, you get a free custom domain when you sign up to Silver.

I think, it comes in a promotional code form, or a credit, although I'm not sure. I'd check to see if, when you signed up for Silver, you got a Promotional code in a confirmation email or something. It may even be free when you go to buy it?!

Thanks for your help Jim, and you are correct in regards to our basic Yola Silver package, however johnbradx is participating in a special program that included a free .co.uk domain and does not include a secondary domain credit.

For GBBO participants the free .co.uk domain credit you redeemed is the only domain included with Yola Silver. This is one reason why we are able to offer it at such a deep discount. You can absolutely purchase the .com version of your domain to improve your searchability and I will happily send you a private message with a discount code to reduce the cost of this for you.

Thank you for your kind responses and for clearing that up. I do think that when you are given the option to upgrade to Silver that it should be made clear that the second domain name will not be given to GBBO participants. I ONLY upgraded for the second domain name and because I needed to use submenus and it stated that the Silver upgrade would give you this. But it seems I can't have submenus either, presumeably because this is a GBBO account. Please can you clarify just what GBBO accounts are getting for the silver upgrade becasue I am beginning to see no benefits apart from a few free gifts which I am not really bothered about. What I want to do is to be able to get my site to look as professional as possible.

Prior to upgrading a GBBO account to a Yola Silver level, you will be provided with this screen, which provides information on what the GBBO Silver level includes:



As you can see from the picture I have attached, the Silver GBBO package includes the following:

* Advanced statistics: Learn valuable information about your audience and site traffic.

* Premium support: Contact our 24/7 priority phone and email support if you need help.

If you are not interested in your Silver package any further, please email us at support@yola.com. We will be happy to work with you further in this regard.

Further to Brianna's reply I just wanted to add that submenus are available with your Silver package, but you may not realize that they are only available on Premium Styles. If you are utilizing one of our Free Styles, that is why you are not seeing them in your Sitebuilder.

I did upgrade to silver and i did make all the steps to have my own domain an in the final step I got this message ;;;;;There was a problem with your form.
Could not register user with Domain Service
