Upload Facility Wanted

Hi

To expand my existing business I would like to offer my customers an extra service. Currently I have galleries that are available on canvas but I would like to give my customers the opportunity of having their own images put onto canvas or any other medium.

To be able to do this I need an upload facility – does anybody know how I can achieve this? All I would need is an upload button and a facility that allows the user to browse their hard drive for the image and then a sort of inbox to receive the image. Obviously the images would need to be quite large so the facility would need to be able to cope with large Hi-Res images being uploaded.

I will tie this in with a ‘form’ to make sure all the necessary details are included with the upload in relation to the spec etc.

Hope you can help

Thanks
Stewart

You can do this with Jotform, Stewart.
Here's an example of a form I created: http://travelsa.yolasite.com/listing-...

Hi Boomer I have created a form with an upload button allowing my customers to upload their images. Now that I have embedded it on to my site I thought I would do a trial run. I don't seem to know where the file is uploaded to - the destination? How can I locate or assign a destination for files (images) to be uploaded to so that I can access them.

I hope this make sense. I have looked on Jotform for any help on this matter but all I seem to find is an explanation on what the tool does not necessarily how it works.

Thanks
Stewart

Hi Stewart,

I'm not that familiar with JotForm, but have just been over to their site. I'm guessing it works similar to other form managers, where your submissions and files are stored in your JotForm account- not in your Yola account.

So, although a user is submitting the data on your site- the information is actually stored in your JotForm account where you can view it.

If you are having any problems with JotForm, visit their support page here.

That is correct Dre'... and the image is sent to you as a normal attachment with the form submission. I tried to test it quickly, but my captcha is not working and I can't submit.

This did seem like the logical place that it would turn up but like I said I did a trial run and I could not find the image that I had uploaded. It just took me straight to the PayPal account to pay, as a dummy run I had to stop there and quit out - it got the price right and everything else but no image. I understand that this is not a Yola issue so I shall write to Jotform and explain it to them

Thanks for all your help though its much appreciated.

Hi Stewart,

That would be the best thing to do. Feel free to come back to us though if the issue seems to not resolve maybe we or some our clever community members will be able to find a solution.

Chat to JotForm though. I'm sure they'll sort you out.

Stewart, you said you quit from Paypal but maybe you could put something on the site for a penny--then you could go through with the transaction and see how it all works.

Hi Stewart

I took a look at Jotform. I believe I read somewhere that your uploaded files can be found in your Report section. Then, you click on the link to download the file. You can also set it up so that you get an email with a link to the uploaded files.

Hi Stewart,

Currently a form like the one Boomer's given would work. I know that Wufoo offer this facility to with their paid accounts. Alternatively, post your email address and people can email you with the file (not the best option though!)

But thanks for asking, we'll also pass this on as a feature request.
