Hi Michelle,

Is this something that you would like to do with a site built using Yola? We don't offer this kind of functionality at this time...

That would be ideal, yes. I need to do everything on one site, it would literally be one piece of content (small jpeg) every couple months at this point, but this side of my business is taking off and i now need to offer it.
Is there another way i could do this?

Hi Michelle,

We can provide you with a URL to an uploaded file in your site. It would be something like:

www.yourdomain.com/resources/file.jpg

where:
www.yourdomain.com is your domain name
resources is the File Manager
file.jpg is the name of the file

You will need to ensure that the URL is exactly the same in terms of upper and lower case letters.

I'm not sure if this would work for you - perhaps it's something you can test on your side?

WOW, thats long :( Basically the url would take up most of the Text message space which is only 160 characters long. The kind of links i've been using are very simple e.g. http://bit.ly/gyPmt
Is there anyway it can be kept short and sweet? I appreciate you getting back to me so promptly.

You could probably use a URL shortener service to shorten the link - don't see why it wouldn't work...

If this is something you could do, that would be perfect. Will you be able to investigate to see if this will be possible with your company and let me know?
I'm happy to pay a small fee everytime i use this option, if thats a factor.
Thanks
Michelle

Hi Michelle - I'm sorry if I wasn't clear. You would need to create this URL yourself - we don't have a URL shortner service available on Yola. I'm only able to give you the steps to find the URL for the image on your Yola site and the rest is up to you!
