Hi Downunder

Sorry You are experiencing this. It has been 4 hours since your post and I wonder if you are still having this problem??? If so, could you please share the URL of the website you built using Synthasite so that we might check and see if we can access it online.

I am sure you will be able to get through this and get you on your merry way to happy site building.

Can't wait to see your site.

Okay Downunder one step at a time

I want you to take a moment and watch a video tutorial from Vinny the CEO of Synthasite. He can do a far better job at describing and showing you everything you need to help you publish your site then I can.

http://www.synthasite.com/video/publi...

On the right side of the screen you will also find other video tutorials as well below there are the standard text and image tutorials.

With this knowledge I am sure that we can get you through this

Oh as well can you share your sites URL with us?

If you deleted your site then this is the reason that you cannot see it because it is not on the synthasite servers and sadly you will have to recreate it once again. Please do take notes when watching the tutorials ;)

Downunder,

I'm sorry you are having this problem. Can you tell me, did you select option one when you published - publish to a free subdomain name with SynthaSite, option 2 - publish to your own domain name, or did you select option 3 - hosting your own site?

Can you tell me who your domain name registrar is (who did you buy the name exoticreptiles.com.au through)?

I'm sure that we can work this out.

Hi Downunder,

We can only help you with processes relating to the building of your site, and if you host with us, because we are not familiar with your hosting environment. A much easier solution would be to host with us for free, you will still be able to use your custom domain name. Please let me know if that is an option you would like to explore and I can help you set that up.

Ruth has given you good advice. However, if you do elect to host your site yourself, please ensure that your servers are running PHP 5.2x or higher.

These are general instructions on how to configure your domain to point to SynthaSite. All you need to set up an A record (address record) to point to SynthaSite. If you require specific help with the interface of your domain name registrar, please contact them for support.

How to configure a domain name you already own:
1. Log in to your chosen domain registrar (eg. GoDaddy.com, Register.com)
2. Go to the DNS Management page.
3. Set up an A Record
4. The IP address of your record must point to: "208.75.208.172"

Please note that it can take up to 48 hours (although usually less) for these changes to take effect and you need to contact your domain registrar if you need help in that regard.

Once you have configured your DNS settings, click the yellow "Publish My Site" button in SynthaSite. Type your domain name in the second field in the publishing dialog box and follow the prompts to publish your site. Please get back to us if you have any difficulty in this.

Sorry for the delay in getting back to you. An A record is not the same as a name server. An A record (Address Record) maps the IP address of the server hosting your site, to your domain name.

Your name servers need to be provided by the company that hosts your domain (your domain name registrar). Most domain name registrars will allow you to set up an A record. SynthaSite is not a domain name registrar and we do not have name servers (we can host your site but not your domain).

I suggest that you contact www.cheapdomains.com.au and find out if they will allow you to set up an A record using only an IP address. If not, there is another option. ZoneEdit provides free domain name management (name servers). For more information, check out our tutorial that tells you how to either set up an A record through a domain name registrar, or to move the hosting of your domain to ZoneEdit so that you can point your domain to SynthaSite using an A record: http://www.synthasite.com/tutorials/p...

I am sorry that this is a little complicated, but once you get through this process everything will be much more straightforward!
