Hello Sunny

Unfortunately, it is not possible to upload your own template or site into Yola.

Right now you need to select your style from our style library. We are currently working on adding a wider variety of styles/templates with more customization options.

Currently you can change the banner image, color palette and background image on some of our styles. We want to make more options available like this, and one of our future plans is to allow you to develop your own CSS style if this is something that interests you. However, this functionality is going to take significant engineering on our part, so it is still a little ways into the future. In the meantime I hope you can find a style to suit your needs.

This tutorial may help you: Personalize your Style. You may also be interested in this link: Yola Style Guide. It has a handy filter function for you to see which style you might like.

If you are using Yola's free account, it is possible to add HTML and Javascript snippets with our HTML editor. However, it is not possible to upload .html or .js files to the File Manager. Unfortunately we have been forced to restrict these uploads for security reasons, as internet criminals use this as an easy loophole to create phishing sites.

However, by upgrading to our Yola Pro account, this restriction is removed. You will then have the ability to upload .htm, .js and .css files to your File Manager as part of this premium package.

For more information on Yola Pro please see: Yola Pro FAQs and Blog post on Yola Pro from Yola CEO.

Yola offers both a Free and Premium Package so you can choose the best Yola for your needs! To learn more about the packages and various upgrades you can add to your account, please see this page on our website and let us know if you have any further questions: Yola Packages.

If you are wanting to remain with your free account, then I'm sorry that we cannot be of more help with this request.

Hi Matt,

It's a really rigid system and isn't available for ordinary built sites to be hosted on yola. They won't fit the model.

Some customers of course are frustrated by this but I think that most with this need for ground built sites just move on to another builder that allows this.

The main purpose of Yola is to support people building their sites without a real understanding of coding etc. Many do learn as they go along and some of these then decide to move to greener pastures I guess. People who wish to have a simple process of building a good site are happy with the Yola model ie: the million(s) or so sites subscribers, so it fits a niche for the time being.

I joined a program that is giving me the content for a website. I need to upload a database to the control panel. Does Yola even have a control panel?

Hi vchamp,

This is an older post but Sanja and Gop explain in more detail above that Yola requires websites to be built using the Sitebuilder. You can upload files to the Sitebuilder but if you have a website built in another program, Yola is not idea for your website building needs.
