Hi there, Yola Admin,

I have only now tonight realised that my Yola-hosted websites are all down down:, including the following domains-

And yet, when login to Yola and republish, it tells me that they have been published properly. The domains I own are up to date, and fully functional, there is absolutely no rational or logical explanation for this.

The fault does not lie with my computer, and the websites are listed and cached on Google from the 5th of August, which means they have only recently gone offline.

If there is an error, it must be at your end.

I haven't logged into Yola for some months. Is this an error, or if you don't login regularly, does Yola Admin automatically take non-recently-edited (dormant?) sites down?

This is bugging me.

Please can you investigate?

Hello Don,

It sounds like this may be the first you are hearing of the Denial of Service (DoS) attack we experienced recently. You may be interested in reading the blog post from our CEO on the matter: Recent Yola outage: Here's what happened. This was also sent in the form of a direct email to our users so I am sorry if you did not receive it.

Because of the DoS attack, it was necessary to block our old IP address completely and migrate to a new one. This means that you will need to go into your account settings with your registrar and remove the old IP address of and repoint the A Records to

We have a tutorial outlining the steps to configuring your domain: Publish to a domain you already own. For detailed instructions for a few specific domain registrars please click on this link: Domain Configuration with GoDaddy, Register.com & other domain registrars. Once you have re-pointed your domain to our new IP address, it will again be published and live on the Internet within 24 hours.

We are deeply sorry for the impact that this has had on your website and your business. We are committed to a full resolution of the problem and will do everything in our power to prevent it from happening again in future.

Please let me know if you need any other assistance.

Thanks. I will find my domain register login in the morning, and hopefully the issue will be resolved by changing the IP address as specified.
