Hi I need to get my .co.uk domain site moved to a new webhost, I've sent an email to support@yola.com 15 hours ago but haven't had any response, automated or otherwise. This is an urgent request. Is there any way I can check (speed up) progress?

Hello Jem

What e-mail address did you use? I wasn't able to find any message from you in our system by searching for the e-mail address you use for this forum. If you haven't, please send us your request again from the e-mail address associated with the Yola account where you have your .co.uk domain, so that we can assist you further with your request as soon as possible.

Please also note that we have a 24-hours answering policy and that we can only deal with account related requests via e-mail because we need to verify your account ownership and protect your privacy. You are welcome to use our Contact Support Form. Please select "Putting my site on the web (Publishing and DNS)" as the subject and provide the right login e-mail address. Thank you for your understanding.

Hi Stefan,

Thanks for the quick response. I did email from the associated email account. However, it appears that I may not need to transfer the domain, assuming I can sort out the name server to point at the new host.

Kind regards

Hello Jem

Yes, instead of moving your domain away, you can definitely point it elsewhere if you like. Please see our tutorial Transfer your .co.uk away for a complete overview of your options, and let me know if you have any questions.

Hi stefan,

You may well be able to help.

I've been given the following nameservers ultra101.uk2.net and ultra102.uk2.net but the settings page is asking for IP addresses as well. Do I need to go back to uk2.net for those?

Hello Jem

Pointing your domain away works by editing either namerservers or A records. So as you have the nameservers, we will be able to add them for you as soon as we can locate your Yola account. Can you please provide your .co.uk domain name?

Hi Stefan,

They sent over the ip addresses for me, so I've managed to successfully update the nameservers within my account. The domain is purehairdesignmalvern.co.uk

Will I receive some sort of notification when the switch has been completed? I understand it can take anything between 4 & 24 hours?

Thanks again for your quick and informative responses!

Hello Jem

Congratulations! I'm afraid that there won't be a notification, but you will be able to check after 24-48 hours, that's correct.

Let me know if it doesn't work in 48 hours, and we'll be able to look into it for you.

Hi Stefan,

48 hours!? That's going to be too long. The site has to be live for Friday morning...I had been told 4-24 hours. Is there any way to speed things along?

Kind regards,

Jem

I'm afraid that it can take up to 48 hours, but usually it's faster. It's because of updating processes across the internet which is beyond our control.
