Hi there,

After successfully publishing my site, when I go to the live page e.g. www.website.com the page loads but the url changes to not include the www.

If I view the source on the page, the base href is in fact missing the www.

Is there some setting in the site builder to include the www? And yes I know you don't need the www, I just want it.

Any help would be great.

Hi Luke,

If you buy a domain name through Yola or use one of our subdomains, your domain will work with or without the "www" prefix, automatically.

If you have bought your domain elsewhere you need to made sure that your DNS settings are configured correctly to support the "www" prefix.

You need to set up two A-records. One with the hostname "@" and one with the hostname "www".

Both should point to our IP address: 208.75.208.172. If you require assistance with this, please contact your domain registrar.

Please let us know if this does not solve your problem. We will do everything we can from this end to help you fix this.

Thanks Ruth,

My domain is in fact configured with A records for @ and www on 208.75.208.172 as you have pointed out.

This was the first thing I checked. I have conifigured other domains with the same registrar for use with other web hosts in the same way without this problem.

In my previous post, I mentioned that the base href in the source html of the site is missing the www. As I cannot edit the site at an html level, how can I get this corrected? See html below...

Other example yola sites have the www so where is mine huh?

Cheers

Luke

dude - i wish i had your problem... the www. is ugly in my opinion, my site does the opposite, you link without the www. and it inserts it.

Emmy told me that soon there will be the release of advanced domain control features, so this will fix our problems - lets hope they release it soon.

Yep, if you look at the source code on your site:

you have the www.

Yola, can I please request someone to manually change my site source code to include the www in the back end. Seeing as I cannot do it in the frontend sitebuilder...

Cheers

i noticed that - i dont think the base href has anything to do with what were looking at... it just tells the browser the base link, it would'nt effect how the URL is displayed in the ad bar... i may be wrong.
It's probably a file in your account which needs ammending... maybe someone at Yola could check it for you.

Lee.

Yep, I guess I should let them do their job... Seeing as I'm not a web developer! A little bit of knowledge can be a bad thing sometimes.

Thanks and good luck with your issue.

Hi Ruth or Emmy,

Are either of you able to fix my site to display the www?

UK Duke has indicated that there will be some advanced domain features available soon, but I would like this fixed sooner...

Hope either of you can help.

Thanks
