Hi sharen tan,

As you are a Yola Silver account holder, if you have already bought a domain somewhere else, you can use it to publish your Yola site. You do this by creating A records (address record) to point to this IP address: "184.72.229.176". You will need to do this configuration yourself and the method for doing so varies from registrar to registrar. You will need to log in to your account with your domain registrar and create 2 A Records (Address Record) to point to this IP address: 184.72.229.176. One A Record for WWW and another one for @.

We have a tutorial outlining the steps to configuring your domain: http://www.yola.com/tutorials/article....

If you have any difficulty with the above instructions, you will need to contact your domain registrar for support.

I hope this helps!

Hi Sharen,
Thanks for sharing your domain. When looking at your DNS settings, this is what I am seeing:

As you can see by that screenshot, I am seeing that you only have one A Record, and that it is not pointing to Yola's IP address: 184.72.229.176.

Please check in with your domain registrar again to make sure that you can get two A Records pointing to Yola's IP address as per Justine's reply above.

Sounds good, Sharen!
Any DNS changes like this can take up to 48 hours to propagate across the Internet, so, it sounds as though this time may be what is needed. It will not hurt to contact your registrar again to make sure everything has been set up properly! We look forward to hearing an update from you!

Hello Sharen,

According to this: http://network-tools.com/default.asp?... it does not appear that your A records are pointing to Yola. Please show your domain registrar this information. I hope they can assist with getting this sorted out.

Hi Sharen

You do not need to change the name server IP, you only need to point 2 A Records to Yola. Please take a look at this tutorial for more details: What are Yola's Name Servers?

Once you have 2 A Records pointed, you will be able to publish your site. That is all you need to do to be able to use your .edu.my domain.

Hi Sharen

I have just checked the DNS settings of your domain and it looks like it is not pointed. There are no A Records set up. What you can do, is to go back to your domain registrar account and check that your A Records are still set up properly. If it is, then let us know.

Hi Sharen,

When I check your domain I see you online have one A record and it is pointing to:
www.riamtec.edu.my. 3600 IN A 210.5.43.165

You need 2 A records - one for www and one for non-www both pointing to 184.72.229.176

You can use Justine's instructions above.

I hope this helps.

Hi Sharen,
When looking at your domain record information, I am seeing this:

as you can see, your domain certainly does not appear to be pointing to Yola's IP address ( 184.72.229.176 ). Please revisit your registrar and ask them to verify that your domain is pointing to us. If you could provide a screenshot of what you see, that would be great.

Hello Sharen,
What needs to be changed are A Records to point to Yola's ip address 184.72.229.176 not name server changes. I know this is frustrating, but unfortunately as your domain is registered elsewhere we are not privy to their environment to help with editing the A Records.

I would suggest that you send them an email stating that you need 2 A Records created pointing towards 184.72.229.176, one for the www version of your domain name, and one for the non www version.

If they are still unable to assist you, the other option is to fully transfer your domain to Yola so we can be your domain registrar and set this up for you. Here is more information on how to do this if you would like to explore this option: Transfer your domain to Yola.

Hello Sharen,

Unfortunately, it is not possible to transfer a .edu.my domain to Yola so that we become the domain registrar. You can, however, upgrade to Silver and take advantage of the domain pointing feature offered with this package. For more information about this, please see: Publish to a domain you already own.

Hi sharen

I merged your other forum post with this one because it is dealing with the same issue. Yola has one IP address.

If you would like to point your domain to Yola so that you can use it to publish your website, then you need to create two A Records with the same Yola IP address, 184.72.229.176. One A Record is WWW and the other one is @. Both must have the Yola IP address, not two different ones.

I hope this helps! Let us know if you are still having trouble pointing your domain.

Hello Sharen,

If you have pointed your domain towards Yola, you may have to wait for upto 48 hours before the changes propagate to the web.

You need to make sure that you have the two A record pointing to Yola.

To test whether the domain is pointed towards Yola, type in the domain name in your URL bar and if it comes up with a Yola message, it is pointed correctly and all you will need to do is publish from the SiteBuilder.

Hope this helps,

Andi
