I read over the tutorial "Using a Domain Name not Purchased through Yola", but it didn't answer my question. I have a rather sad website that I created for a colleague at a University and it has a domain name that ends in .edu. Is it possible for me to use the Yola services to re-do this website?

Hi ReallyWoolley,

You can definitely use a .edu domain with Yola.

That tutorial is specific to two often-used domain registrars and the process can be quite tricky because each registrar is different!

Here are the basic steps:
1. Log in to your chosen domain registrar (eg.,
2. Go to the DNS Management page.
3. Set up an A Record.
4. The IP address of your record must point to: ""

If your domain registrar doesn't allow you to create an A Record, then you can use the services of ZoneEdit (those steps are on the tutorial or here:

If you'd like to post your domain here or the registrar you're using, I can try and find support documentation on their website that may help you. Alternatively, it may be worth contacting them for support in setting up your domain.
