The Flickr widget we have in SynthaSite gives you a quick way to add some fun, fresh content to your site. You have control over the search term: for example, if you search for "cute animal pics" - you will see images of cute animals. You also have control over the number of search results. You can have 8 or 20 images for example. You do not, however, have control over the actual results that the Flickr search returns. So even though you could search your own Flickr account, you could not control which of your pictures are displayed.

If you would like a gallery of clickable thumbnails with your own pics, this is what I suggest:
1) Upload the thumbnails with the file manager (you will find it under the "site explorer")
2)Drop a text widget on your page and add the thumbnails by clicking on the "insert image" icon on the text editing toolbar.
3) You can also create pages where full size versions of the images are displayed.
4) To make the thumbnail a link to the full sized image, click on "choose a link" in the properties sidebar and link to the relevant page.
5)When you are done, remember to go to "Edit Menu" and drag all the pages with the full size images "out of the menu" so that they do not appear in the main menu of your site!

You will then have an attractive gallery of your own photographs.

I made a mistake in step 4. Instead of using the properties sidebar, highlight the image in the text widget and then click the "insert link" icon in the text editing toolbar.

To clarify - each full sized image should be placed on a new page you create in your site. The link you create with the thumbnail is a link to this page.

You can also add a specific flickr gallery to your website using a Google gadget. Here's how:

1.) Drag a Google Gadget (widgets -> Google Gadgets) onto your page.
2.) You will be presented with a box asking you to 'cut and paste your Google Gadget code here'.
3.) To get the google gadget code for the flickr gadget, open a new browser tab or window and go to:
http://www.google.com/ig/directory?sy...
and click 'Add to your webpage'. This will take you to a place where you can configure the gadget
4.) Here you will get various options for configuring your widget. Importantly, place the link to your Flickr RSS feed in the field: 'Flickr photo feed'.
5.) Once you have finished configuring your widget, click the 'get the code' button at the bottom of page. This will give you a text area (directly underneath) with the code you need.
6.) Copy and paste this code into the box on SynthaSite.

You will now have a gallery of your Flickr images added to your website

Sorry, the url above is broken when entering it into Get Satisfaction. To find the correct gadget go to:
http://www.google.com/ig/directory?sy...

I used the 'Photos from Flickr' gadget which was third from the top when I looked. I am sure that the other gadgets my well server your purposes.
