Utilising "webmasters code"?

This is really a follow on from Martin's question on preventing Google indexing sites.
The answer is to block the indexation with a robots.txt file with appropriate statements. This isn't possible with Synthasite.

What would be the outcome of using an invalid webmaster's code inserted into the slot?
Would this stop Google from indexing the site?

Any thoughts please?

Hi Peter
Interesting idea. However, Google Webmaster only looks at the code on the index page, so if this is correct the whole site will be indexed. In fact Google can index a site even if it is not verified with Google Webmaster at all.

If there is a significant need to stop Google indexing all or part of your site, this is something we would have to work on from our side. The current implementation does not allow for this, but I will pass these requests on to our engineers.

Thanks Monique,

I have found four references only for this request.
Up to you :)

Most of them quite recent, though. As well as a few to support. So the demand might be growing. We will keep an eye on it.

Looks that way. I tried to post a few times without success. Comment was not posted. The email notifications seem to have gone out though. . .
