Utilizing passwords with multiple sites

I have multiple sites under one account. They are all password protected with different usernames/passwords. But, if I access one of the sites via a password and in the same session, access another, it does not prompt for a password. It is almost as if a cookie is created that indicates that the password has been entered. Is there a way to make sure the password for each stay active?

Hi Lou,

Thanks for bringing this to our attention. You are absolutely correct about a cookie being placed on the browser. With the password protection feature, when a visitor to your site enters the username and password this will put a cookie on their browser that will store the username and password so they don't have to enter it again the next time.

When someone accesses the password protected page from a computer that has never accessed that page before, they will be prompted for the username and password.

I am quite confident you are seeing this as you have visited both of your sites on your computer before.

What you can do if you want to have the password and username reset each time someone leaves the site is have them clear the cache. Here is a link with more information on how to do this: Clear Browser Cache.
