Hi guys, an idea :)

i just think that a "View on all pages" check box in all the widgets would make 100 times less work for most people who update their sites regularly.

Is this a feature that is in the making or does it exist already and i'm missing something?

Thanks AJYates

Hello ajyates

Thank you for your suggestion! No, I'm afraid it doesn't exist yet, and you're not the first one to request this feature. We are considering it. Unfortunately I cannot promise you anything at this stage. But you are absolutely right that it would be a good improvement and a convenient and time-saving feature.

Are you aware of other methods to get the same content on all pages of your website? Like Save Page As (creating a sample site) or copy/paste the HTML source code of a Text Widget?

Thanks for the reply.

And no i haven't tried such a thing yet. Actually i have only just started learning webs so don't know much about HTML. That's why i find the Yola site builder a big help. But at the moment i keep creating more work for myself cause of having to repeating the same thing over and over for each page.

Many thanks for the tips though. I'll definitely look into your suggestions and try to learn more HTML. :)

If you have numerous features you wish to share across multiple pages on your website the "Save Page As" feature should suit your needs brilliantly. Read about how to use it in the link above!

I've had a look at this now and it will work great for when creating full new pages. Should also save lots of work! :)

But the problem i've got is, i created sidebars out of the Custom Panel Widget and put them down the side of my website. In those i display certain information that changes weekly. You can see here> http://teamworldracing.yolasite.com/ Which means i have to change it to the exact same on every page.

So unless there was the feature i first suggested I'm not sure it would be possible to do the easy way.

Just an early thought, but if those sidebars were images or files stored in your Resources folder (with your other images etc.) you could place them on every page, then update the file and it would carry through to all the pages.

Hello AJ,

If the information is being fed from an external source as an XML/RSS file then an RSS reader could capture it and display that in your side bars. You could even do that by creating an RSS feed yourself somewhere else and capturing it on the page sidebars you wish.

It's a while since I've looked at these so I'm wondering if any now have a styling facility built into the setup. For a start you may like to look at Widgetbox RSS reader which can be configured reasonably well. There were a number of others as well and undoubtedly new creations have been made.

I've voted for your feature because that would overcome all the issues :)

Thanks for the info guys!

Ive had a look into this RSS Feed and after much confusion i have finally done my "News Headlines" box. You can see here> http://www.teamworldracing.com/ Top left in the side bar.

But ive still to work out how to get the same method with just the images that are below "News Headlies" box.

Will keep looking into this cause it is saving me lots of time already. :)

You've done well AJ.

You could feed your own images by RSS with Flickr or Photobucket and there are a number of sites that feed their own images out that you can connect into.

It may well be that there are some racing image sites that do also?

Phillip i read your comment about 4 times over the last days an didn't understand it lol!
Now i read it and got an instant understanding, ive tried exactly what you said now. Re-named the new picture same as old, re-uploaded it and it goes in the exact same position for all pages.

Many Thanks AJ :)

Glad to hear it. Sorry if I was unclear; I still need a lot of coaching myself, especially about explaining things. Luckily there are a few very good coaches on this forum, as well as Yola staff, who are always ready to help.
