i'm trying to verify my site with google and really struggling. I've signed onto Anayltics and Webmaster, however, the actual verification keeps on failing.
How do I do this?
I have tried uploading the html code and placed this onto html widgits on all pages, i've tried to put the meta tag onto page properties as well as putting the analytics codes on all pages.
It's still not working.
Can someone please help me with this? this is now turning really frustrating and am desperate to get this verified.
thanks

Hi Vicki,

The Tutorial: Adding Analytics is an excellent stepwise instruction for Yola site creators to enable GA on their sites. If you hit problems have a look at this

Similarly Google Webmaster will step you through the verification process for GW. If you do have a problem with this then a follow up Problem list Why is Google Webmaster not Verifying? is an excellent resource for discovering the reason.

Hi
thanks for the reply, i'm actually struggling with the actual verification with google as I can't put HTML, or meta tag into the head section as it doesn't exist.

Thanks
Vicki

Hi Vicki,

With Yola sites you have no access to the head section of the site. The only way is as in the tutorials. The links to the tutorials are embedded in the blue words so all you have to do to see the tutorials is click on the blue coloured words "Adding Analytics" for example.

Please follow the tutorials and let me know where you hit the problem. Like the step number that the problem occurs at.

I'm happy to step you through this. Unfortunately shortcuts don't work and the Yola tutorials are specific for the Yola set. The Google instructions are a number of alternatives to cover the variations in web-site structure and facilities. The Yola engineers have developed accessibility for the codes to be recognised by the Google spiders according to the instruction within the tutorials.

Hello Vicki

Gop is right to suggest to you to follow our tutorials he provided the links for. Please let us know at which step you may struggle.

It's not quite correct that one cannot edit the head section of a Yola website. With our Premium package Yola Silver you will be able to add website tracking code to the Site Settings. In the dialogue box for this code you will find a head and footer section.

You shouldn't put the code you get from Google Webmaster or Google Analytics on any of your pages. There are special sections to enter code in the Site Settings dialogue box. In the Sitebuilder, click on Site > Site Settings in the main menu bar. From there you will be able to access the dialogue boxes for Google Analytics and Google Webmaster in the Tracking section. In those dialogue boxes, you can enter the codes you get from Google. To make sure to copy the right snippet from the code provided by Google, please follow our tutorials.
